***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

You all seem very confident this won't be a disappointment.

The last three Bethesda games I've played, FO3, FONV, and FO4 certainly weren't disappointing, far from it.

Sure they had some bugs and quirks, but they were patched and modded to hell, and have hundreds of hours of play in them.

Why then, would I expect Starfield to be a disappointment?

Well New Vegas wasn't really anything to do with Bethesda, and Fallout 4 was very meh IMO

Lots of jobs to finish next week, then ready for early access Friday morning. It’s my last week off work, so I figure I’ll make the most of a long weekend to play, not that I intend rushing this one.

I’ll take any of Bethesdas single player games over anything else, especially all the crap that releases these days. I love even their ‘worst’ games. As a studio I’ve been hooked on their games since Morrowind. Combined with sci fi, I’m on board.

I think initial reviews are going to be glowing, simply because the game will be so huge, reviewers won't be able to get much percentage done, but they will experience the initial start of the game, which Bethesda will surelyake sure is spectacular. The start will be the greatest game ever and that will be what the initial reviews are based on

That's my gut feeling any way.

I'm just gonna buy it and give it the benefit of the doubt, I've deliberately not been listening to the hype or watching anything to do with it, other than a few things.

Ref HOTAS support, well this might well give us a guide:

It's a Youtube livestream planned to start on the 1st Sept.
As can be seen, the You tuber intends to use a whole variety of HOTAS and flight related gear. Assuming that it's not just a prank, that implies that Starfield will allow the mapping of controls to a whole variety of USB connected controllers. If so, EXCELLENT!

I really wouldn't get too hung up on joystick support. If you've played no man's sky I believe it'll be very similar in which case it isn't even worth connecting up your joystick for the odd 5 minutes of basic space sim in-between the main game.
