The "Official" University 2007 Thread - Where are OcUKers going?

am i correct in asssuming that you only have to pick your first and insurance choice by the 4th of may if youve had all your offers back?

yup benny, you pick a Firm choice and an Insurance choice and decline the remainder. Or you can decline them all and pick an extra i believe (an entirely new choice)

No OcUK Sheffield freshers next year so far? I'm ashamed of these forums!

(and Hallam doesn't count as a university of Sheffield :p )
Dirty Filthy Lies!

I had a place Sheffield Uni, but for Soft Eng it was dire and on a whole it seems fairly dull :p

Hallam > Sheffield for computing :p

Been here for a year doing a ruddy Foundation Computing course but have failed it due to silly stupid reasons.

Hopefully going to squeeze on to the Games Technology course here in september.

Which engineering?

It's just "engineering". The first 2 years of the course cover all the main areas (mech, structural, electronic etc) and then you can specialise in years 3 and 4. Just as good as specialising from year 1, but you get a good grounding in the basics of all disciplines first.

Durham and Warwick do a similar style course. Durham offered me AAB but having been accepted at Cambridge it was an easy choice to put Durham down as my insurance offer. :p

I got an Engineering offer from Grey college. I probably won't be going to Durham anymore though, it's my insurance offer.

The lists getting quite big now, keep 'em coming, and I'm noticing a general trend towards computer science and software engineering too...suprisingly :p :D
