**The official Vanguard Thread**

more likely they are seeing huge decreases in active subscriptions so give it to us as its one of the easiest to implement incentives, i do enjoy the game, but i dont see huge amounts of people about..they all seem to be packed into small areas

consideing it is double points weekend I can hardly see anybody anywhere except my own friends  All the continents seems like ghost towns populated with NPC's.

When I joined Frengrot a couple weeks back it was high pop and I would see people everywhere I went but now I hardly see anybody and enemy players are even rarer :(

Well i know a lot of people have quit, i myself and most of my guild ended our subscriptions last week and we was pretty much the best shadow team on frengrot (all lvl 43-45 & imba equip, legendary weapons etc)

No social hubs, boring/lazy quests, The classes are a mess and also un-balanced. Huge amount of exploits and bugs and the devs seem to be going the wrong way to fix things.

Had some great times on VG and started out loving it, u guys that continue to play it GL+HF :)

I played (tested) the game from early B2 and wanted so much for it to be a success. Unfortunatly for whatever reason MS and Sigil agreed to go their seperate ways and things didn't improve with Sony. A lot of the "pretty" stuff got improved in the last few months, but it was obvious to anyone who played in early beta the ambition of the game got watered down again and againg until it just became an EQ clone. Combat, which was supposed to be a tactical challenge of move and counter move became an exercise in "mashing the buttons"

Such a shame, I understand the money ran out and even in late beta Brad posted that there was lots to be done but they had to release as is. The aspirations for an in depth MMO were laudable, the implementation just got dumbed down and ended up being a cludge of EQ, EQ2 and WOW philosophies in an attempt to make the most $ asap.

I just find it annoying with these games that when the publishers say "no more money" they just release the game and use our money to fund another year worth of development. A year after release EQ2 turned into what I'm told is actually a very playable and fun game. Unfortunatly it's too late for those of us that bought it on release, played for a few months before we gave up. SOE learned nothing and have done the same thing again. By late 2007 / early 2008 I have no doubt Vanguard will be a good fun game improved by 500% over it's current state. Unfortunatly like with EQ2 the damage to it's reputation has been done and it's relagated to an also ran behind WoW.

I bought it, played for a month and finaly realised I was just being suckered by SoE...

What a wasted opportunity.. :(

I played on a mates account for a while and liked it didn't get that high a level but then got my own. Im level 10 but just finding the quests repetitive, im tying to complete the jin master quest but im getting bored as its all kill so many NPC's, they have stolen such and such.

I keep thinking I should take advantage of the double points today but just can't be bothered. I think I will play out my free subscription and maybe come back at a later date when all the bugs have been sorted.

Or maybe my opinion will change in a few weeks?

how the hell

my 9.5" x1800gto is only an inch from my hdd rack in the superlanboy and the 8800s are 13" long if memory serves

the 7900gto is practically the same size as our 8800gts and trust they are not 13" ;) We also have a 8800gts is our shuttle

I'd be interested in giving Vanguard a crack as I've exhausted the other MMORPGs on the market. Is there a free trial or anything like that? I'd rather try before I buy as there is quite a bit of negative press surrounding the game. Also, is there an OcUK guild or are you guys just playing on a specific server?

most are on frengrot, im really wanting to try this game but after buying DAoC and WoW i really dont want to buy this, then pay a subscription for a month, then never play again, MMORPGs seem to be the least value for money when it comes to games for me, i play them less than any other game as they dont last v long, and they're always more expensive

Hi

I really want to keep playing this game and am thinking about trying to get a new mount as an incentive :)

I am level 18 and currently own a really slllllooooowwwwww horse :( so my questions are:

-what mounts are there for me to use at my level
-do I have to save up to buy them or do I get them through a mission
-where do I go to get one

Thanks

The mount you have is the fastest one you can get at the moment, you can however buy some horseshoes to add some extra speed to your mount!

At level 20 you can then buy the next level horse (and next level horse shoes) which is faster. I'm fairly sure theres no quest for it so you will have to save those pennys!! (It's 2gold and some silver I believe)

OMG 2 gold thats crrrraaaaazzzzzyyyyyyy

I have seen people on camels/wolves? (I think) and I don't think they were level 40 or anything.

I am on kojan so if I went to another continent would I be able to get any other creatures or is that like level 25?

I'm honestly not to sure how you get the other mounts, I do however believe they are the same speed/level as the horses and I would expect they cost the same amount.

2 Gold is not that much, I had 3 gold at level 20!

2 gold is nothing :)
At level 20 u can get a faster mount , theres a camel vender on east qulia @ tauthien delta, 3g for 1 hump camel or 3.25g for a 2 hump camel or u can grind arena coins and get a super deluxe camel for 750 coins (+70% mount speed)

Or just buy a faster horse from a regular horse vendor

yep time to get myself off Kojan and earn some serious cash.... I can't wait to get a camel then come back to Tanvu riding round all the lil lower levels on my nitro camel :D

Where do you get the wolf mounts from?

I'm pretty sure you can't buy them yet, or at least get a permenant one. Theres a quest around the Martok area where you get a temporary one, kind of like the flying Gryphon quest in Thestra. I don't think theres a way to keep them after the quest yet, which is a shame. The Gryphon is sooo fast! I want a wyvern. :p

I could be wrong!

Ive heard talk of lvl 50 flamewolf mounts, i suppose there must be uber lvl 50 mounts, i remeber seeing a high lvl dreadnight in beta on a seriously pimp looking horse.
