Shamans get a pet too, at level 16 I think. Choice between a bear, wolf or phoenix.
Wood elves have a racial ability that turns them into a wolf, wipes all snare effects, and gives them a 30% speed boost. Only lasts for 30 seconds, but very handy for getting away.

Whats the lowest spec PC ppl have heard running this game to a decent lvl ?

The game isnt really playable at anything lower then that spec i think. I've played it with 512 ram and its awful, theres so many freezes and hitching.

Only level 7 at the moment, but between adventuring, diplomacy, crafting and harvesting I just don't know what to do first when I log on. All this in gorgeous forest surroundings, and that's on my first character class in my first starting area.

Any news of a trial or demo?
It looks good, a lot like EQ2 in terms of graphics and interface however, which isnt a bad thing, heard it plays better too.
Can anyone give me a quick compare against EQ2?

I've only gotten up to level 20 or so in Everquest, currently 14 on Vanguard, so I won't be much help. The gameplay "feels" a lot smoother to me (the actual graphics engine is a different matter, very buggy right now), and more seemless as there are no loading screens etc. The crafting is better in Vanguard also, in my opinion. And the diplomacy sphere to the game seems very interesting, although i've not dabbled much in it yet.
If I had to compair it to another MMO it'd be DAoC a bit. It just reminds me slightly of it, although of course loads loads more.

The FPS is reported at about 10 to 20 but it doesn't really feel that slow. Just out of interest I had three simultaneous instances of EvE Online and one instance of Vanguard running yesterday. THAT was unplayable at 0.5 frames per sec. Now with a modern up to date system I might be able to.....
PS edit: watch out for the 20GB hard disk requirement on an older system. My game is installed in an empty reformatted disk-checked partition on a three year old 80GB Samsung.

Well i am playing at 1900 x 1200 on my comp and its running smooth enough, but the graphics dont look particulerly special, i dont know if thats my settings or what.
Playing on the hmm frengot server i think, name is Tomtom Jedi lol, a lot of the controls seem similar to pre cu swg which is nice as well, its desperatly in need of a attack queing system i think as well.

torn between Kurashasa Necromancer or a Dark Elf Monk, the later would mean i could join the horde of infinity dark elves on frengrot, the 1st...well...it just sounds cool lol
