Games been out 12 days today, the first 20-25 levels are not to bad but the slow down seems to kick in from about 30. Still a decent effort to get 20 already :)

Highest level player in the game I believe is 30 at the moment.

hrmm ok.

k might reroll a character on Fengrot then. I usually play quite late (server performance is better!) Its literally the graveyard shift with no-one around for miles.
Stick with good ole pally? (paladin) I'm determined to give this game a shot before the 30 days is up....

I'm doing the same. Mainly questing on the graveyard shift as the performace is better, and the game doesn't crash as much. On Frengrot also here, seems to be quite a few OcUK'ers on the Shadow side.

lack of maestro support is killing me, cant even enjoy my 30 days...im sure i bypassed that with swg way back when...

I vaguely remember reading someone bypassing that using Global Collect, and selecting a french (or at least french sounding) payment method. Carte Blanc or some such? Chances of me refinding the post on the SoE forums are slim to none. :o

Don't hold me to it. :p

well the dark elf starter town i think is the most popular dark started due to it being the dark race with the most available profs, so everyone goes there cos their mates do aswell

besides, being evil is more fun :o

its earlier on in this thread i do beleive, yes carte blanc and global collet rings a bell with me too, someone definatly gave instructions that they had used to pay via maestro

the blank cheque method was removed...probaly cos of this loophole

Frengrot here, have yet to meet any A`holes or leet kiddies :) met some friends already who i grind quest with a lot, and in general people are really helpful.

probably cos parents arent as easy to pry of their credit cards as they are their debit cards to let their kids play the game...i can imagine a few elitist gits will rear their ugly heads in time

TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PLAY WITH SWITCH/SOLO/MAESTRO CARDS

It's just taken me bloody ages to figure this out.

Select Globalcollect as the payment method, rather than credit card. Then when you select card type choose Carte Bleu, and bob's y'uncle :p

Have fun!

Like I said before :D

Are most of the guys in here playing on the Team PvP server ?

Im on the team pvp with a mate

That statements killed this game for me :( can't stand xp debt in games when you die, looks like I'll be giving it a miss. Shame really I was considering ordering it today :p

I honestly believe this is a great idea.

No xp debt means every levels too fast then moans about being maxxed out.

Now players have to think about what they do and can't do a quick grind to max level.

I love the game and suggest vanguardspheres.com for those looking for more info on the game.

I'm a level 9 cleric of the name morganno if anyone is on galenia. I can play this game with high performance settings on 1440-900 with 1 gig DDR 2700 mem and E6300 + BFG 7600GT GFX card. Anyone with the newer 8800 will see a much prettier world than me.

Gotta agree with the experience debt thing - it adds a real element of fear when you're out adventuring.

There's no risk involved in games where you just respawn and head back out with all your xp and gear intact. It's just one more thing that makes the vanguard world a lot more interesting.

The XP debt in the game is hardly anything. If you get back to your tombstone you gain around 95% of the XP you lost from dying. Coupled with the /corpsedrag command, which drags your tombstone from 25yds away from where you're standing to under your feet, I hardly ever find myself in a situation where I can't retrieve my tombstone and have to summon it at an altar. Don't forget to buy a soulbind gem from a vendor also, its only 30c and has 10 charges, helpful when worse comes to worse and you have to clear a group of mobs to get to your tombstone.

I personally think, once the client is optimised and people don't lag/crash so often, that the XP debt should be increased. It adds a bit of risk to the game, which makes exploring awhole lot more fun. :p

ive been hearing disturbing things about the Godlike healing classes (clerics, shamans) in pvp.

In one case one guy had a party of 4 (offensive tanks caster types) vs 1 cleric... guess who won

I think in the last patch they nerfed damage and spells about 30% ish (effectively your tanks and offensive casters) but left healing at the same which led some to lament at this. All 2nd hand conjecture though havent had chance to verify this at all.

I can verify this. PvP is very unbalanced at the moment. Like you said they nerfed damage, but couldn't figure out a way to nerf healing in a respectable fashion. Which means for me playing a Psion, see a healer = run in the opposite direction. They made this change in beta and havn't fixed it yet. Ranged weapons are a pain also, fought an equal level warrior and he almost equaled my DPS with a crappy pulling only weapon, while I was all out nuking/kiting.

They're patching a lot though, so I don't expect all this to last for long.

Anyone else having mad problems getting on to Frengrot?

On char select keeps switcing between "1 <char> in <town>" to "waiting for server data" forever (log file shows connection dropping every second)

Yet I can connect and play on other servers fine.. infact I've started a necro (level 8 in just over 90mins - not bad for my first time playing this game, let alone necro :p) just farting about waiting to join a friend on frengrot.

I'm logging on Frengrot fine... Can't play right now as the client CTD's everytime I loot something. Not sure about creating a character, maybe try tomorrow after the server restart, theres been a lot of serverwide messages from GM's about bugged characters and everything, that could be one of the problems.

And don't worry, after level 12-14 leveling slows way down. :p
