Thats what I was thinking of doing and I think thats what I WILL be doing now especially as the battery life is supposed to be comparable.

Very happy with apple right now, especially as i want to buy a macbook pro so the update was well worth the wait. Ill be phoning up tomorrow with my education discount ready. Going to be saving me a lot of money now with these price cuts.

UK pricing is going to hurt on these I get the feeling, weak pound will still hurt us. BUT what a fantastic set of updates for the price so far, I was ready to buy an old top spec 15" macbook pro in a week or two and would have been perfectly happy doing so, so this is all a bit of a bonus!

I think you'll be lucky to get that low but here's hoping. I don't expect it to be cheap but personally I don't hold it against apple as it's not entirely them. I'll just buy the best 15" I can get for £1800 or so.

Don't forget Apple should still have their 10 month interest free offer still on when the Apple Store comes back online.

Student discount is about 14% iirc, it varies from product to product.
