tbh 10 minutes on youtube will find you about 10 (or more) versions of the song that are better than Alexandra's

is a good one also, the blonde guy with a gap in his front teeth has a cracking voice anyone know his name?

I was just about to post this song, had it in my favourites for ages! The guy with the gap in his teeth is Kurt Nilsen according to the youtube comments. He has an awesome voice!

EDIT - Just by coincidence...he won Norways first Pop Idol and then went on to win World Idol..

Wiki
Kurt Erik Nilsen (born September 29, 1978 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian pop/country singer. He won the first season of the Norwegian version of the reality television show Pop Idol, which aired on TV 2 in May 2003. He then won a one-off international version of Pop Idol, called World Idol on January 1, 2004, featuring winners of the various national Idol shows.

Does anyone else find it ironic that in this 'music' show none of the finalists will have a clue what 'the fourth, the fifth...minor...major' they are singing about are?

I've successfully been playing guitars & keyboards in bands for the last 38 years and it wasn't until using Guitar Pro about 3 years ago that I started to learn a tiny bit of notation.

I've avoided any X-Factor so far this year. Heard Alexandra's Hallelujah on Radio 1 this morning. Horrible horrible version of one of my favourite songs. Overblown and devoid of anything approaching emotion.

Just Downloaded JB and LC versions. Would have got Rufus Wainright too if I could find it as a single. Hadn't heard this particular LC version before and it's very good.

JB currently No 4 (and 61 bizarrely with the same version of the same song from Grace album) on itunes. LC at No 46.

Apart from the Final, the last few shows were awful and me and the boyf kept asking each other if what we were watching was the same thing as the judges :/

I think Alexandra is a bit too arrogant. I wanted JLS to win, although no doubt they will have some singles out... they already started their marketing in the live shows (t shirts, accessories etc).

Diana's version of Hallelujuh was much better, no warbling either.

Poor choice of winners song though I think, hope Leona stays at number one.

BB x

Haven't read through this thread in a while but for you who remember her I thought it was worth mentioning that me and my g/f met Amy Connelly today! She did a short performance at the Maldon Mudrace including Faith Hill's 'There You'll Be', 2 songs from her upcoming album and one other that escapes my memory right now

We both briefly spoke to Amy albeit it only to pay a £2 donation to receive a copy of her debut single and to get it signed although she did come across as a very nice girl wishing us both a happy new year and I admit that she was a fav of mine during the past series wanting her to make it through to the live shows so personally I'm pleased that things seem to be going good for her

One thing that did make us laugh though was that during the performance of one of the songs on her new album she forgot the words not that any of us would have been none the wiser having never heard the song before but it was honourable for her to have admitted it :)
