She sounds like Lisa Hannigan, the woman Damien Rice sometimes sings with.

That wasn't the one I have singing in my head lol, shes an older singer, not a current one, its quite annoying, its starting to bug me now!

and yes jdickerson, she did go a bit OTT with the hands, I think that was down to nerves

EDIT: Sinéad O'Connor, thats it! ha har! I can sleep soundly now, that was driving me crazy lol

Haha, I said exactly the same about Diana when I watched her doing the U2 song.

I wasn't impressed by the groups at all, so I'm glad that the public vote seems to agree with me. I thought Girl Band did a lot better with their own choice than their first song though, I'm not sure if it was bad song choice, but it just lacked energy. I hated the wonderwall thing, that wasn't a band, it was a girl with backing singers.

I felt so bad for Scott, the way he was like "it's ok, Simon said it was the right thing to do", then the way he totally broke down, so I'm really glad he's getting another chance next week.

I don't know who my favourite is yet, but I think Laura and Austin probably have the most impressive voices.

Was frustrated that Bad Lashes went out, especially as their rendition of Wonderwall was, for me, the performance of the night - it's the only performance that was truly up to date and would do well in the charts. Shame Girlband are in, they have 1 singer (the blonde on the left), where as Bad Lashes could at least harmonise and had 2 singers (albeit one lead).

different, yes. but i thought that rendition of wonderwall was truly abysmal. that was what sealed it for me, in wanting girl band to stay over them

I liked that rendition, much in the same way I think the Ryan Adams version blows Oasis' version out the water.
That main girl has a bit of a rock voice and a set of pipes, where as the other group have 1 okay singer and 3 out of tune muppets.

At the end of the day I'm not really angry because they wouldn't have won anyway, it's just annoying when people with no power, depth, shade or originality continue to get through on these shows (Eoghan I'm looking at you).

How bad is this year? None of them with any sparks or that x-factor, they sing songs by imitating them which means one will always compare it to the original and they are never as good.

And who the hell is Leon, this guy is supposed to be the winner of last year's but he has no charisma and boring and acts like he has Tourettes when he sings.

The three hot ones I would definitely do got through - the spanish bird, Diana and the chubby blonde from Girl Band, so I'm well happy.

I think the X-factor is really good entertaining 'switch your brain off' Saturday night TV, but I get really irritated by some of the things the show does.

1. Sob stories - there are always bloody sob stories
2. Tonight's show, where they had to suggest before every performance that the act might be about to break down to increase the tension.
3. 'In no particular order' - but we'll keep Scott til third last because everyone thinks he's going out and it'll be a shock when he makes it.
4. When selecting the final 24, they said no to the wee boy with the hat, but then brought him back and put him through to Barbados. But wait a minute - wouldn't that mean 25 people in the 'round of 24?'. No, not in X-factor land where the viewer is thick.

The producers must think we're stupid!

The main thing that annoys me, and it happens every year, is the geographical voting. Where if the contestant is from up north, it seems most people from up north will vote for them, just because they are 'local'

Its a singing contest, not vote for your mate or geographical 'pride'. I generally shut my eyes when I listen to the performances, because at the end of the day, it'll be their voice on a CD when your listening to it, not what they look like, or where they come from. And I'm sorry, voting for someone just because they are 'fit' is just as bad in my opinion. I couldn't care less when I'm listening to their CD if they are fit or ugly, as long as they sound good.

Right I've had my rant :p

I think singing in Spanish is cheating. It will always sound exotic, but a spanish record will not sell in the UK, you can't really gauge what kind of singer she is when she sings in a foreign language

At least one of Bad Lashes was painfully out of tune, and yes they attempted harmonies, but they sounded terrible and were wrong for the songs. Their first song was possibly the worst performance of the night, I actually had to stop listening to them.

I had my money on Bad Lashes to be in the final three... I think it was bad luck for them this week... some of the other acts were far worser.

Diana is my fave to win :) Ruth and the Spanish singing is getting boring, JLS were good, and the little kid was good too.. but only Grandmother's will buy his records and he will probably be singing at event exhibitions as I saw that Ray 'munster' kiddie doing this year :/

The girls are probably the strongest group.

We will see I guess.
