There's some rather sexual pictures being posted on this thread. I've just loaded up HL2 and stuck everything to max, it's still eye candy after two years! Going to load battlefield 2 on there now, as that was really tough on my old card.

Hmm I think HL2 is more demanding that BF2.


Bf2 dissapoints me, the water looks ace, but then the shadows on the heli's etc look like the blade on a saw :|


Is there anyway of forcing the max AA ?

The reason I ask is that I am planning on upgrading my X800XT PE (AGP) the HIS X1950 Pro (faster core and memory than other branded X1950's) on a respectable AGP system (Opty@ 2.7/2gig ram/24" LCD) and would like to know if this thread can also apply to me.

I say Slap is more than welcome to join the X1950 pro thread. It'd have to be pretty elitist to exclude you for running AGP :D
 
well I'm an owner, but I havent yet been able to 'unleash the beast' because I'm waiting for a mobo RMA. I just have to stare at its packaging on my desk each day... how depressing:

Nope not really, would be gOOd to have some feedback from AGP users also (I ammended the first post to reflect this).

I bet one of these cards would breath some fresh gaming life into an older AGP system :cool: :)

Definitely! A friend of mine is buying one of these to replace his trusty 9800Pro, as he didn't want to pay the asking price that the 7800GS+ asks.

He was pretty over the moon when he saw these on AGP.
 
yea the 7900gs+ is just plain taking the wee right now with its silly price. i wonder if it will have any sales now thta the x1950pro is on the scene.

Slap, fancy running 3d mark 05/06 and seeing what score you get? would be good to show the difference between AGP + PCI-E (if there is any?)

Hey, I'm a big fan of the X1950Pro. :p Had circumstances been different, I would still be using an X1800XT right now, and the X1950Pro is pretty much exactly the same performance-wise from what I've seen while using less power and generating less heat. Can't fault them.

cant speak for the pro buy my 1950xt has played nearly all the latest games at max settings, (and in farcry i used custom settings, 20 pixels per second instead of 4 for example) and none of the games slowed down at all. 1280x1024 resolution, c2d!
