Very stable. Everest reports 34-39C for the cores at idle.
Prime stable shot please.
Will be interesting to see if it passes with that vcore.
Will get around to doing that later, hopefully the vcore can stay the same.
Had to import, Approx £200 inc shipping + VAT. It is socket 775, so yes it will fit in an x38 motherboard such as Formula/Extreme.

I really would'nt be putting more than 1.4v through these things. 45nm and high volts do not mix. I learnt that with a E8500 that degraded because it had 1.5v through it.
e8500 v q9450
I have been tempted by the e8500 recently but have been convinced by many that quad core is the best even with it only reaching 3.6ghz stable and the e8500 reaching 4.2ghz. It also seems quad core has more benefits than dual core and especially will have more so in the near future so I will still stick with q9450 even if I have to get 3.4ghz OC thats still better than a £1000 CPU stock at 3.2ghz so...

If I clock to 3.4ghz thats a higher clock than a stock £1000 cpu in terms of clock speed, and seeing as all the other tech is the same I assumed it would outperform it, just that the £1000 would have a better OC potential than a q9450.
