When the patch comes out would it be asking too much for an extra 10fps performance boost?

I mean, they got to enable 50% extra CPU for Quad Cores and 75% extra CPU for Quads, and also they are bound to include performance fixes and stuff so could be a good one.

Edit:
Oh yeah, this was with everything set to high before applying the config file, and running 1680 x 1050, in DX9 mode - DX10 takes a 8-9 FPS hit

Nice one, you tested them out in MP yet? I swear none of these setting get applied in MP, which is a shame cause it would look so much better.

yes, from that point onwards the FPS takes a huge hit.

No big FPS hit here on my GTX, I thought it was actually higher with the snow, in Dx9 at least.

I played through it 'out of the box' on DX9 and it still looks fantastic. Each to their own, though.

Well from that little room were it took the hit, went outside and it did, I then restarted and fps was all good again.

Right click crysis link in My Games and click the one that says DX9.

Crysis=New PSU For Me!!

Gutted :eek:

As its so hardware intensive my PC now shuts down with no warning when it gets to graphically intensive levels.

I have put it down to the PSU (Antec Phantom500 with 34A).

I presume 8800GTX + X6800 + 3 HD's must be close to the 34A limit.

Strange thing is Bioshock, Stranglehold, COD4, GOW, HL2 EP2 & Timeshift all work perfectly with max details @ 1360x768 yet Crysis will not work for more than 20 mins or so until shutting the PC down instantly with no warning.

Sounds like its overheating. Do you have it overclocked? Perhaps try using Rivatuner to set the fan speed at 85% or something.

i dont have that option on any of my shortcuts/in the main crysis folder. know why that is? really doing my head in now, as i want to run in DX9 with tweaks, not DX10

You have to go to Games in the Vista Start menu (thats under your pic on the start menu), and right click on Crysis in there. You wont get the option anywhere else.
