Okay once you have your finished image go to:
File>>Save for Web...
This opens up an optimisation menu:
As you can see there are lots of scarey buttons and such, and obviously your image in the center.
Now, on the right hand side you should see a drop-down box called Preset. Ignore this, to the right of it is a small arrow icon: (>)
Click that and you will get a menu:
As shown in the picture you will want to click on Optimize to file size...
Once you have clicked that you will get:
Simply enter the value you want. For these forums you will want 20k.. althout I usually put in 19k just to be safe. Click OK and hopefully you wont actually notice anything. However, look in the bottom right of the dialog and you should see something along the lines of:
That is just short of 19k from a size of about 65/66k - with almost no difference in quality.
Now all you need to do is click the Save button and Robert is apparantly your father's brother
