The One, the Only Street Figheter 2 Arcade thread

Quite enjoying this on the 360, controls were weird at first but i can do drgon punches fluently now whereas i never used to be able to on the snes. Did the trial quite easily.

Anyone watch Street fighter last night? :P

If its a direct port of the arcade version there are many many cheesy moves you can use to beat the computer opponent.

We used to play this all the time at our 6th form college and it got to the point where if you dropped a round against any computer opponent you were having a very bad game, it wasnt all that uncommon to get to M. Bison without having taken any damage at all.

Player versus Player is totally different and the cheesy moves will end up with you dead in double quick time against any reasonable player. Its more about taking full advantage of any mistakes your oppo makes.

Shame I dont have a 360 as I'd like to give this a go, been a few years since I played against human opponents.

Im not the problem... everyone else is <grumbles>

It's the strict border controls into Gordland which are the problem, You should never have employed those dodo's They are like 6 inch high Nazi's that cant fly.

Every time we try to play with you we get a day pass green card, but that only lasts one game then we have to re-apply.

I hear getting out of Gordland is equally as difficult as the Dodos do not want the populous to leave.

It would be easier to get unsanctioned internet traffic into China than sanctioned Internet Traffic into GordLand. Also all the women are ugly in Gordland.

BTW, Krono - I was going to add you to my friends list for SF action but your friends list is full apparently.

I know:(

I have already cleared it down a few times this year.

Its because I am super popular, and everyone wants to play with me. They just don't want to play with me again :(

I will have look at it in a bit and become uber ruthless.

Edit 50 Places up for Grabs, Come get'em boys

Thats because the population of Gordland is me.. so.. there is no women.. unless i count you.. :p

And the dodos resent being called Nazis.. they prefer extremists.

Played for a few hours solid last night. Took my 17 continues to complete it on the default difficulty!!! Online was not so much fun due to the terible lobbby system, when you did connect there was some lag on some connections which turned it into street fighter 2 : snail edition.

I think a lot of people are confusing this game with the otehr sf2 games they played.

On SNES there was both sf2: world warrior and sf2: turbo (aka port of sf2:hf from arcades).

a) most people probably played world warrior and hence are finding this too difficult/fast

b) those that did play hyper fighting played it on SNES which was much easier than at the Arcades. Arcade versions are always hard so you keep chucking your 10p pieces in (I know that was a long time ago!!!).

Even at the arcades I dont remember hyper fighting being easy by any means.

Anyway I will be on today playing it if anyone wants to play online or quarter matches.

p.s. If anyone serriously wants to play this I highly recommend the DOA4 Arcade Stick. Nothing beats hearing the microswitches click as you do the moves!! I am strruggling to do the "charge" moves (hold a direction, then move opposite direction and press p/k at same time). But I will practice that a bit later. QCF and HCF moves are so much easier to pull off on the stick. The joypad was not made for beat-em ups!!

Ignore him, the 8 yr old cousin is just him when he is having a bad game!!!
(in my defence the 8 yr old was quite good!!, gave him a good hundred hand slap to put him in his place, and save my graces!!)

Gonna spank you silly later on if you are up for it ;-)
