A friend from uni who I'm living with next year is gay. He's not "in the closet" but he doesn't make it obvious either. As for my friends at home, I think the ones that seem least likely to be gay, are the most likely to be gay 
Once I was in a club and this guy started touching me up. I wish he would have asked if I was gay first. That would have just been the polite thing to do.
