The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

He's rich enough to say **** you to all advertisers and then he can say/do what he wants without consequence. I'd respect that even though he's a total ****.

Of course he has that little thing that all billionaires suffer from: no matter how much they have, it's never quite enough.
He needs to come up with an idea how to make twitter profitable once and for all. Find one way to make a solution to the problem of not making money.

He could call it 'the final solution'

And then provide a leaflet detailing all the new rules and regulations, making sure its thorough and details everything, but not too wordy, maybe stop at about 88, and that'll be titled '88 rules'

If anyone was to comment on this in a negative way then they'd clearly be asking for it and it'll be proof of false outrage.

He suggested independent voters vote Republican on the basis that the Presidency is held by a Democrat.
No surprise dowie comes in, totally unable to see it for what it is.

What actually happened, is the new owner of twitter, made twitter political against one party, while claiming to want to make it neutral.

Sure he can do what he wants, but he can't claim to be one thing and do another.

That point you're clearly glossing over to argue over a very simple view. Try adding a little bit more thought into what the other users posted.

PLEASE VOTE REPUBLICAN

He suggested independent voters vote Republican on the basis that the Presidency is held by a Democrat.

Which for somebody who said "climate change is the biggest threat that humanity faces this century" doesn't make a lot of sense, considering the majority of Republican politicians think climate change isnt real.

I think if you expect social media not to have edgy jokes and meme's because of corporate advertisers then it would be best if you **** off to China, they have fantastic social media as well as a team of moderators to ensure you don't cause any offense. I hope that's clear

Roar living up to his name again. Man you have anger issues, you should probably deal with them. Its not good for your health and you won't be a pupster forever.

Almost as if he's not a "Trumper" and this isn't as simple as some people seem to want it to be...

Yes as I removed all context deliberately, thanks for adding context for me dowie.

Fixed that for you... :)

He has put up lot of Tesla stock as collateral for his loans and Tesla stock has only been heading one way. Its dropped from $227 to $197 in less than a week. It was $340 the day he made his offer to buy Twitter. If Twitter starts losing lots of money it will likely hit Tesla stock price and he'll be forced to put up more stock to cover the loans hitting the stock price again. Even Elon can't afford for Twitter to financially fail.

I'm not angry, it's just a statement of fact. I find the notion that we should self censor to please corporate advertisers abhorrent

It's not a "belief" it's fact, that is what he said...

elon really knows his audience will suck up whatever he says.

Elon: "twitter is making record profits, advertisers beg us to charge them more"

Dowie: "advertisers beg for more, elon is such a success"

Colonel "i have a bridge to sell you dowie"

Dowie: "but it's fact...elon said so in a tweet"

Hmm so a business should just say whatever it wants without a care for its public image? Is that in the business 101 course? Musk is the face of Twitter, he has made himself that on purpose and very publicly in the last week. So trying to separate him from Twitter is laughable at this point. Until he appoints a CEO and says he's stepping back from the running of Twitter his actions will reflect on Twitter. He sent out a note last week pretty much begging the advertisers to stay and then spends a week acting like a child.
Yes he can say what ever he likes but in his case that comes with consequences. Not even he can have it both ways.

You really are being a bit naive, I'm referring to the fact that he said it.

Elon: "Do X if Y"

Colonel Kink: "Elon said do X"

Dowie: "actually he said do X if Y, you missed some context there"

.........

sidekick potato guy "dowie believes stuff is true because Elon says so"

Can you not understand that I'm simply pointing out the context of what was said? Whether or not you believe Elon to be sincere or not is irrelevant to that.

Thanks for clearing up what Elon said. We were all totally lost and glad you've been able to clarify the few words that were said in a tweet.

So these 2 users points still stand and you've just dowie holed an argument about the exact wording Elon said, which Jo one was under any delusion as to what it was, but in fact people were talking about the intent, something you have tried to stop and talk about the words and take them at face value.

I have no doubt about why you'd rather users not talk about the intent of Elon's tweet, as it leads to posts like the below which we should be talking about.

Yeah I did find it amusing that not long ago he said Twitter should be politically neutral and the day before the elections the face of Twitter suggests people vote Republican. Again though he just loves to cause outrage. He clearly gets off on it.

Doing it under the guise of making the house and presidency separate parties so they work together.

Can't wait for the first joint bill to be the removal of carbon credits and the EV tax rebate and the following no not like that meltdown from Elon
