The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Imagine turning Elon's carrier pigeon meme into him endorsing Nazis, the intellectual dishonesty at this point is actually disturbing, the only fitting word for this is deranged.

Who said endorsing? You said endorsing so you could then defend it.

What's the word for a user that makes up an argument so they can argue against it?

He just can't help himself. Wakes up and thinks, "I know a good idea for a troll, I'll post a pic of a German Wehrmacht solider today, then stand back and see what happens." Its not like there are a shortage of carrier pigeon pics out there, no he had to choose that picture. Advertisers I'm sure will be put at ease and will be flocking (pun not intended) back.

I doubt he did it as a troll. But that's the problem isn't it? Musk can't be trusted with a Twitter account, but he's tied his personal brand so closely to Tesla, Twitter, etc. that these companies are hurt by his inability to hire someone to do the kind of basic checking on his tweets that would pick up the obvious point he was tweeting out a Nazi soldier. What advertiser wants to hitch their wagon to that?

The funny thing is, that user isn't quoting roar and saying "how dok you know it's a Nazi", nor is roar quoting that user saying "it's clearly a Nazi".

The one thing I know about roar is that he's smart enough to clearly see that is a Nazi. There's no doubt about that. Roar knows. But he cannot bring himself to set that user straight.

He'll post some sort of "why would I, it's not my job to educate the uneducated", but we know what he really means, which is that, I cannot argue with someone on my side.

I don't think he has to live his life according to the demands of corporate cancel culture, you're suggesting he hires someone to censor him incase he says some "wrong speech", do you even read what you're typing? Why should any of us live like this? **** off to China.

Fair enough. Can you identify a Spitfire versus a Messerschmitt or did you miss that bit too?
If the markings are visible yeah I could.

I ain't going to be out here pretending to have studied something in detail when i know I haven't. Not like a certain someone, who may have forgotten an aeroplanes model designation, while trying to be sassy.

Why are people overthinking it? What does it matter if it’s a picture of a nazi? Should we pretend like it didn’t happen? The point is that messages used to be sent by carrier pigeon, do people just want to have something to moan at?

You think these companies would have another company looking out for their best interest but it appears these individuals do not care one little bit what they put.

No, he's clearly not suggesting that. He's suggesting it's an issue for advertisers. Why is that thing so complex for you to grasp as it was written in his post, OK it was at the start but it was clearly written. The issue is Elon is pushing away advertisers with posts like this. They are rightly put off by this.

You then have dowie arguing it's the activists fault and only arguing that for days.

Then you have users saying, this is just making matters worse, and you come along and go "star star star off to China", and why, because someone said about censoring daddy elon

What he said up to the word disturbing is true. I can't agree with the rest of it because the mods might upset at me for insulting members on the forums ;)

Most people saw a joke about carrier pigeons. Other people want to claim they recognised Nazi uniforms, because they believe that with the breadth and depth of human history, studying what clothes the Nazi wore, is very very important.

I'm suggesting if he wants to directly, personally, associate himself with a brand then his behaviour is going to be directly associated with that brand. He doesn't have to do that, but if he does then he cannot avoid the consequences of that. That's how life works. He can either act like a grown up and take that seriously, or like a spoilt little child complaining that the world isn't fair.

Don't worry though, I'm sure he can go play in his yacht or something if he needs cheering up.
