The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Kanye West will be back on Twitter soon. Word on the street is that he'll be ineligible for monetisation, and no ads will appear next to his tweets.
What about folks that he follows/follows him?

Also inevitably he's going to say some racist **** that will be broadcast so the image of the site is going to be degraded anyway so advertisers are still damaged by his presence.

So is it called Twitter or X?

This is the most bizarre and half arsed rebrand i have ever seen. Everything still refers to it as twitter, and on most of the help pages, the old logo is still there with no reference to "X". The tab icon changes depending on which page within twitter you look at too.

It genuinely looks like there was no actual plan or schedule for this. I think he just decided that weekend and the whole thing has been one massive rush job to appease Musk's rekindled infatuation with having an "X" brand.

To be fair, there isn't really any dire need when rebrabding to have the old brand instantly gone and disappeared from all existence. I don't personally see an issue that half the site still shows twitter logos. Give it a month or so and I imagine it'll be totally switched.

Elon now threatening to sue non profit that tracks hate speech. In the letter they accuse the group of being funded by eithert competitors or foreign governments. Well which is it Elon? To make that claim you must have some proof that points to it being one or the other and not just some random accusation.

I disagree. I think it looks amateurish and a mess.

It still isnt clear whether Twitter is still called twitter, or whether it is called "X". The only references to X seem to be to "X-Corp" (just lol) , so is Twitter called X under the umbrella of X-Corp, or is Twitter called called Twitter under the umbrella of X-Corp (whilst using an X logo). Also, what will the other platforms under the X-corp be called? They can't all just be called "X". Is the "X" logo the logo for X-corp, or the logo for Twitter etc?

The whole thing is bizarre, and feels very much made up on the spot by a bored childish billionaire with too much time on his hands over a weekend.

Figuring out why he does something is the fun part.

Does it matter ad revenue is reported to be down 50%? Yes

Did he rebrand for the much needed attention? Absolutely!

Well he hasn't been able to even pretend to have a long-term relationship with someone instead preferring to excuse it with his fantasy of siring a million kids seemingly unable to comprehend that doing so ensures he has no legacy.

There is a tweet with the view from the building across the road that shows how crazy and bright it was. And flickering.

This is the sort of stuff that puts off advertisers.

They removed it within like a week or so? I think some of you imagine Elon was sat around designing the sign with the intent of annoying the locals for their left wing political views, only for him to be thwarted again as he goes back to plot his next attack. Absolute derangement.

Well it did look like one of these tacky flickering neon signs you might see in the likes of blade runner ( vegas ?) announcing a church,
the X being halfway between an upright and inverted cross does seem like a dystopian religious symbol -
but if the law has anything to do with it X can't offer sanctuary - he's not the messiah ....

That's quite the imagination you have. Is it like a coping method for when you can't defend the actions of your beloved leader.
