I heard he's also responsible for that time Paul who works security at SpaceX got food poisoning from the canteen after Elon undercooked the sausages, because Elon does absolutely everything at all of his companies, including choosing the luminosity of the signs.

Come on, even you must believe that Elon's hand will have been involved in the obnoxious nature of the X signage. If you don't then you're even further down the rabbit hole than most here believe. All you have to do is look at his modus operandi.

Yeah, that's absolutely what he spends his time doing, designing signs to annoy the neighbours - I'm crazy if I don't believe that.

I'm not sure i would 100% say he got the flashing light sign to annoy the residents nearby. However, he absolutely said something like: "Yeh lets have a massively bright flashing X sign on top of the building!!", whilst selfishly not thinking about other people.

There is no way that sign did not have his involvement.

This is exactly the sort of thing Musk does. He'd do it deliberately just for the media coverage whilst knowing full well how much it would **** off residents opposite, but he's just the sort of person to not care about that. This is the sort of thing he does when he is 'working' so hard.

There's a reason childish things like this only happen at a company like twitter and that's directly down to the one guy making the decisions.

Roar will tell you, Elon hasnt got time to make all these short sighted spur of the moment decisions, such as not requesting permits needed to use equipment in public places, placing dumb signs etc
Hes far too busy since hes spending all his time doing all the really complicated and time sink jobs like being chief engineer at SpaceX. I mean nothing technical happens at SpaceX without the chief engineer doing it.
 
Musk is not going to be loved like Steve Jobs, who must be his idol, but jobs never seemed to try and masquerade as a technical wiz, well he had had wozniak like gates had Allen,
lack of a double act /sounding partner (& spectrum) probably hinder Musk.

( Sugar, Dyson aren't much fun either )
 

He's the sign guy, don't listen to everyone who knows him, has worked with him, or what he himself says he does. The media says rocket man bad so he must be.
I'm sure the 7500+ ex Twitter employees will give you an appropriate image of what kind of person Elon Musk truly is. I'd be more interested in their opinions rather than his own.

Religion is a protected characteristic, so saying anything bad about Elon would be discrimination and/or hate speech.

I'm reminded of how many American CEO's love to say they work really long hours, however when there was a study do it turned out that they were including things like their meals, time in the gym, travel to and from work, and massages etc in their "work" time, by the time you took out what no one else in their companies got a chance to bill as work they were usually working at best the same hours as a 9-5er, often far less.

i also remember how when Musk was facing legal questions about his remuneration at Tesla he and the rest of the board said he was the only person possible who could do the job he was doing and he was spending all hours of the day there, including sleeping on the shop floor at times, IIRC that was after he'd moved his attention over to Twitter and when he was also already being paid full time for SpaceX.
I sometimes wonder if he's one of the lower quality "superheros", possibly multiple man given he's apparently the only person who can work 12-16+ hour days and be utterly indispensable at multiple jobs.

I don't necessarily think Musk designed the sign to be as obnoxious as possible (although it's 50/50, he seems like he'd see it as a laugh), but I do think he was personally involved in it and quite possibly decided on it being as bright as possible so it stood out and didn't care about other people, the law or safety (after all his job is to "move fast and break things", and he's never quite understood why that shouldn't apply to things that affect the safety of people other than himself).

lol yeah that's what usually happens when i sleep, someone comes in and takes a photo of me too, with nice very specific lighting. seems legit.

funny how when elon says stupid stuff, you're here instanlty to say "it's all part of the plan to generate clicks", then when he does something you struggle to defend it's all "elon had nothing to do with it, too busy doing other things"

remember when people were saying trump doesn't read the bible. here is all the proof they should ever need and now need to admit they were wrong, trump clearly reads the bible (though upside oddly enough)
