The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I wonder if that will include ex-X employees :p

And I thought this bit was funny

More recently, the firm that owns Twitter announced that it was suing an anti-hate organisation whose research criticised the platform.

The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) had done research that showed hate and disinformation was "spreading like wildfire on the platform under Musk's ownership".

X Corp accused CCDH of "unlawful acts" to "improperly gain access" to its data.

So they aren't disputing the result, just that they got the data :p

Haha that has to be one of the most stupid things he's posted yet. Lawyers that can run in to $m very quickly and he's going to pay them all with no limits   This will like the millions of Robotaxis he promised would be on the road in 2020 or the electric lorries that could already drive across the US in formation in 2017. The man opens his mouth and lies fall out. He's gone full Trump, he said he's cover legal costs for anyone that assaulted protesters at his rally. No one will ever see $1.

A Twitter employee should say something on Twitter that gets them fired and then hold Elon to this.

yes they should, it's clearly at his discretion who he would provide any support to - only a moron would think it's a blanket statement, I assume you know the story that prompted the tweet? It was a NASCAR driver that shared a George Floyd meme (not even a funny one at that) and got fired - a disproportion outcome for the offense imo.

LOL

Buys twitter, sacks 80% of the staff, to save money
Buys twitter, starts charging for blue tick, to save money

Hmm clearly the actions of someone who doesn't care about money.
You know there's a difference between trying to run something efficiently and not caring about money when it's someone's principles? You must have seen the clip from an interview with abc news (I think), and he's asked about his tweeting impacting potential ad revenue etc and his response is 'I don't care'

You know they say follow actions and not words right.

Ha absolute nonsense, its all he cares about.

You think he cares about free speech? Of course not, he allows it on his platform boasting about free speech pish because he knows if he he cracks down on the haters out there (that's the ones he's protecting with the free speech crap) then he will lose half his subscribers.

He paid 44 billion for a 10 billion dollar company by mistake thinking he was making a smart ass joke, being the big man when he was in reality so stupid he made the offer in a legally binding way, that he couldn't get out of.

To say it was the biggest mistake in business history is an understatement.

So he's stuck, now having to scrimp and save, add dollars onto to everything they do, blue checks, premium content all the thing he can to add micro payments to the system.

Still no matter what he does he losses 4 million dollars a day, he cant even pay the interest let alone pay towards the 44bilion loan.

His best and probably only option is to sell up take the 10 billion he gets and cut his losses, its his only real option, how long can any business go losing 120 million dollars a month?

Thers a good chance he will have to offload more than just Twitter, he has a few businesses, one or two of them may have to go to get out of this mess.

Again, you are misunderstanding the difference between trying to make something profitable - a losing battle to be fair as twitter was loss making prior to musk anyway - and not caring about money regarding your principles.

Nonsense, you do release he is back to being the 'richest person in the world' again after losing the 'title' last year?

Sells billions in stock when Tesla is at its peak after promising stock holders his money is the last money out. No he doesn't give a damn about the money  Oh I've got these magic beans you might like....

Read his tweet. It doesn't say they might fund it, it says they will fund it.

Thats assets not real cash, his worth on paper is not the same as hard cash that he needs to run businesses.

To turn it into cash he needs to sell stock, but theres a catch, everytime he sells the shares go down, reducing his net worth by billions

Richest person in the world, maybe but its monopoly money, it only exists on paper and is subject to market conditions.

bad business like twitter eat into it, slowly but surely and in this case its 120 million a month and rising.

Advertisers are running scared of twitter, his ad revenue is down a massive 40%, people just don't like Musk, its as simple as that.

Which is real sad, as only 2 years ago, he was an interesting person and someone people had respect for. Even sold at points as the real life iron man.

Now he's a guy that spreads conspiracy after an old man gets attacked in his home with a hammer, and spreading those conspiracy simply because the person attacked was a dem.
