If Musk brings a requirement for photo'ing government ID's then its a data grab. A very sinister direction to go in.

At least that is actual verification rather than just a credit/debit card that proves nothing other than someone was prepared to spend $

I'm loving his petulant temper tantrum, telling the likes of James Woods to delete their accounts and blocking people who are saying he shouldn't get rid of the blocking feature :cry: :cry:

That app works in China because they already have the state watching everything they do. No way would I ever trust any person/organisation with all my data in 1 app, especially not petulant baby boy Elon. His simps would probably fully trust him the fools but I don't see the vast majority trusting any company with that much of their lives and they'd be right to be distrustful. I'm not sure US or EU regulators would allow it either.

People will have self sovereign identities (SSI's) in the future, you wouldn't need to trust Twitter as a central authority.

I think the reason is about bots. He could have gone down other roads than this one.

I've seen many people suggest he's trying to create the social network situation like in China.

He's going to lose a lot of support from the Musk Stan's.

Elon Musk, the owner of the app formerly known as Twitter, has said the social media site “may fail”, after a glitch caused pictures posted before December 2014 to be deleted.

Over the weekend, a glitch on the platform meant that the site removed pictures and links on posts made before December 2014. The posts showed broken links instead of the pictures and videos that were previously there.
