The Outer Worlds 2

Is the first game worth playing in 2025?
Crikey...the first?

Theres already been Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Avowed, Two Point Museum, Atomfall, Khazan First Berserker, Blue Prince, Expedition 33, Doom Dark Ages , Roadcraft, Dune Awakening, The Alters, Broken Arrow , Abiotic Factor, Grounded 2, Cronos New Dawn, Borderlands 4, Dying Light The Beast, Endless Legend 2, Hades 2 and Battlefield 6....has there been nothing in all of that that you've found worth playing, have you considered a different hobby as this one doesnt seem to be delivering for you :D

@Tombstone I think you misunderstood - the question was "Is the first Outer Worlds game worth playing in 2025", rather than is this the first game actually worth playing in 2025 .
LOL so I did...completely misread that, I do apologise @opethdisciple , thats what happens when you try reading (or misreading as the case is !) with one eye on your phone and one eye on your work screen :D

So to answer the actual question, its a tough one really, especially with the 2nd being so close. Outer Worlds 1 is one of those close but flawed titles for me. Its good but whilst playing it, it has these little niggles where you think oooh they could have done this better and that better. Theres a lot they got right and yet at the same time some basics that they got wrong to the detriment of the title. I'm hoping that the 2nd game has ironed out those detrimental issues, if they have it should be a cracker.

What a time to be alive!
Crikey that music gives me Fallouty vibes :D

Whats everyones thinking, planning to play in first person or third person?

I've preordered the premium edition so that I can play 5 days early (on the 24th), because otherwise it was coming out 1 day before Arc Raiders which is a bit too close. With the 5 day headstart I can give this some serious time before Arc Raiders drops on the 30th.

Do I need to play the first one, I have a free copy from Epic stores.
I think you might as well at least play a bit of it - it's a short game and it starts quite quickly. If you skip side quests etc it can be finished pretty swiftly.

A lot of people went into it with huge expectations (mine were high) and then got a bit disappointed, so can't guarantee you'll love it but I think if you're considering the second you might as well give the first a shot to get a sense of the vibes, humour etc. For what it's worth, the humour didn't really land for me either but that's another rabbit hole. Still excited for the new one.
