To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your GTX 1080.​
 
Friend of mine is debating getting a 1080 but is worried that something faster may come out shortly after, I told him not to play the waiting game otherwise he'll be waiting forever.

What would others tell him ?

Show him the price of the Pascal Titan, that should be enough to encourage him to go for the 1080.

If he wants faster he will have to pay a lot more for it.
 
Zotac AE owners. Last week I saw a model of this card with a VGA support bar.
I cannot find it again. Not even on their website.

My question is, did anyone here get one?

What gpu does he currently have?

If he needs a good gpu now then I'd buy a 1070 in the meantime and wait for Vega / 1080 Ti.

Paying £150-£200 extra for a 1080 to gain around 20% extra fps over the 1070 isn't worth it at the moment imho.

There is a faster Pascal card than the 1080 rumored to be announced in January. Nothing is set in stone but I would feel a bit guilty if I told my mate to go all in on a 1080, then a card marginally slower than the Titan XP came out shortly after.
 
I've got another 1080 FE cooler coming inc the backplate and screws

When i installed the ACX cooler, one of the screw heads from the tiny screws that hold on the backplate snapped.

I asked EVGA if they could send me a couple of spares but they said they had none in stock... also i scratched the cooler a bit and it was annoying me looking at it.





I mostly bought it so the card looks nice for the next owner as i'll be sticking this on it once i get my external radiator setup put together.

It is a very good price yes.

All FE 1080s are the same but with that one you get the EVGA warranty which is better than most.

Don't forget that you could go for a non reference 1080 which will be a little bit quieter and cooler running.
