Just tried the Shuwa Shuwa pepsi flavoured cheetos for the first time.

My verdict: Unusual....but actually not that bad.

They kinda fizz and tingle a bit on the tongue and the flavour is definetely pepsi, but almost like pepsi if it had been fried. Or something like that anyway :p

I doubt I would get them again, but they were definetely worth trying and I will be able to finish off the bag, which is actually a fairly big one.

Anyone else tried these? :D

That's not exactly one bag of crisps though is it. 27.5-30g is one "bag" of crisps.

That monstrosity is about 10 sittings.

It's about 800 cal I bet, which equates to half the calorie intake if one is on a diet (if you are eating 20% less calorie less a day).

I bought a 6 pack bag multipack the other day, it's 94 cal per bag, lasted me a week and I have away 1 bag.

Anyway, what is the challenge exactly?

Eating them I suppose. Not the scariest food to eat by any stretch of the imagination, but still pretty weird :p

Its a 75g bag.

414 calories according to the back of the bag. I only managed to eat about a third of the packet and then I had to stop. The flavour kinda gets overpowering after the first handful. I think I might just put the rest in a little tupperware box and see if I can coax my work colleagues into eating them on Monday.

These look rank - much like lots of the other stuff Craig eats ;)

I assumed the challenge part was a reference to the pepsi challenge of yesteryears?

Eat something really weird like duck tongue then that's more of a challenge. ;)

I've eaten a fair bit of weird stuff (including things which I'm sure are far worse than duck tongue) but...never duck tongue. What is it like?

I've not tried it but shall I send you a packet next year? :p

I would seriously take you up on that offer :p

So, looking at that I'd guess it's some kind of dried or freeze-dried snack? Is it meant to be a sweet treat or something equivalent to jerky kind of snacks? Sounds very intriguing (and I should probably just google it but the guessing is part of the fun) :p

I saw it in Ichiban, it's basically a Japanese snack shop, chocolates, dried fruit, sweets, dried squid, dried(deep fried may be) small crab, dried fish, chicken feet, kidney, tongues.

All sorts !!!!

I am not sure if the tongue are sweet or salty though, i am guessing it is a kind of bbq flavour.

My google for Ichiban shows up as "Ichiban Fallowfield" (I live in Fallowfield)...I'm pretty sure that's not where you mean :p Is it a chain? Looks like a noodle bar.

I used to eat the dried fish as a snack, just like beef jerky really in terms of the high protein, low in fat aspect.

My experiences with dried fish haven't been great (outside of bonito flakes and I'm not sure that counts:p). Any recommendations?

Anyhow, had best shower and sleep. Will check back in case you've answered tomorrow :)
