The Polaris RX 480 Owners Thread.

The Nitro/Devil preorder is looking pretty good right about now

hehe aye if i was still looking for a new gpu id be all over the preorder price or looking at a 390x :)

i was thinking of getting a 390 or a 480 then hit the trigger on the 480 20 mins after they launched, regretted it slightly with power gate but that is sorted now and im more than happy with it and it seems to out perform and trade blows with my friends 390 nitro in the next room while sucking a lot less power :)

would not be buying a reference one at current prices though as the main goal in me buying one was 390 or better performance for the low 200 quid range now their reaching 300 quid ouch :(

Glad it worked out for you, I'm personally looking to use this as a stop gap to maybe small vega, cos I'd like to move to 1440p in the near future, but whether I stick with the 480 @ 1080p or move up depends on my wallet at the time

Excellent. I found that my 380 wasn't even being used to it's full potential until 40% power limit, with no overclocks applied. To me, that just says the card isn't really rated for it's own clocks.

But anywho..... it's good you can go to 50% :-) Thanks!

Sick of afterburner causing instant system reboot when trying to overclock AT ALL on Crimson drivers, and OC Guru II not allowing an voltage or power limit control.

I wonder if this 3dmark time spy bench is ran with AIB board:

Nice ^. You should try undervolting, you have a high leakage card like me. Try 1.050v and see if it is stable, you'll drop 5c off your temperatures and you can run the fun fan slower. You can also undervolt the memory to at least .900v if you don't overclock the memory.
