what does asic quality mean? mine is 82.6% and it was 84. something a week ago lol

edit: streaming some videos on fire fox again and core is manually on 1080 still and the memory is manually set to 0950 and i get this vddc reading......

im guessing thats not normal? since its all set manually on both mem and core.... help amd matt :)

clearly my mem and core are on manual yet im getting they readings on gpuz.... i am confused :(

whats a good driver cleaner program incase it is something stupid like that? even sitting on the desktop i get random spikes a lot putting either the memory or the core to 100% usage and knocking my voltage over what i set lol

Really? Looks like they are already hitting the 70's with no voltage increase at stock.

Yes. If the reference cooler can keep my card under 80 with a quiet fan profile, an improved AIB cooler will have no trouble either. It would be foolish to think otherwise, if you haven't actually used a 480.

Asic quality is the indication of whether you have a high or low leakage GPU. Low leakage indicates a higher Asic rating, lower default voltage and lower power consumption. I have a high leakage 480, the not the highest. Mine is about 73% i believe and has a default voltage of 1137.

I wouldn't worry about the brief voltage spikes, probably a senor reading error or something. What the voltage is under sustained load is what's important.

thanks matt, yeah maybe just sensor glitching guess im a bit paranoid lol :)

I'm running an i7-3770 with a 750ti that I've just been given. Would that CPU and the 480 see me right for 1080p/60fps at max settings for a couple of years?

I'm torn between this and the 1060, but suspect that the AMD ties to consoles might work out for Radeon users.

The 480 is the most future proof GPU in this price range at the moment. Cleeecooo is right and that no-one can guarantee 60fps in all games, but with AMD they have a history of improving the performance of there drivers over time so you should be fine.

Thanks all, I'm just trying to justify this to myself when there's a perfectly good 750ti in the PC and a PS4 already sat behind the TV. :D

rx 480 would destroy the 950, it blew my old oc 270x outta the water, which i played dark souls 3 on high with on my tv :p

now if you got a 480 and put the pc next to the tv..... bye bye ps4 cept for ps4 exclusives, been using my ps4 pad on my pc lol :)

Like most guys said, no graphics card can ensure 1080p/60fps max settings in the future, I would say not even to the end of this year, but "max settings" are overestimated this days, on actual games half of the effects are to give a more "cinematic" appearence (chromatic aberration, depth of field, blur etc) and most of it I prefer to turn off to have a more realistic visual, so what matters is if you will be able to play at 1080p/60fps on a graphic quality that you like.

The 480 is a more future proof card at the moment, more Vram than 1060, performs better onb DX12 / Vulkan and have a good price, you can have freesync too since in some time every monitor with a DP conector will be compatible.

Did anyone knows when we will have a review for the RX 480 from hell?

Seems to be the best option to overclock on air...

finally, the reveal, along with some actual clocks. If what was mentioned in the other thread is true and only the Nitro+ OC edition chips are binned, then there is no reason you wouldn't be able to take a 4GB card up to the 1342MHz boost clock of the 8GB. Perhaps even memory can be clocked higher.
