I saw this when looking through some pictures I'd taken at a friends wedding - can anyone suggest what I can do to improve the picture?

And this is one of my cat that I just thought was fun ;). First pictures I've uploaded here - be nice!

going to try this again though, had aweful lighting conditions :(

Last of the xmas pics from me :)

Tried to get a different perspective on this one. Tried shooting up from the floor through the branches of the tree. Although I lack an extension tube so the near branches are out of focus. Hence the 'misty' appearance.

that'd look a treat, even a nice wallpaper if there wasn't a reflection of something on the left, you taking the photo in the bottom-right (bet you didn't spot that :p) and the blackness was sorted out in the corner :)

for some reason I can't see it as anything more than a wallpaper though...

A Full cover picture with some text overlay in a magazine hint hint buy my picture :P:)

Nice. I was working on moon shots last week and never got anything as clear at that.

Do you have the Exif?

Did you do any post-processing?

Andrew

Thanks,

I do have the exif somewhere. I got this shot using a Sigma 50-500mm and a 1.4tc. Most important thing I did was use a tripod along with mirror lockup and a remote! Post-Processing was removing the haze around the moon. For some reason saving as jpg made it look REALLY bad so it had to come out which was a shame as it added to the mood. Also sharpening and a few other things to bring out the details.

131 sec exposure using a 10 stop ND

The effect is beautiful.

But the idea is outrageous!

According to the Exif, you took the shot at a quarter past eight in the evening, in moonlight. You had the camera set to ISO 100. You then stopped the lens down to f11. And then you screwed on an ND10!

I'm surprised you got an image at all.

How else would you get a correct exposure while exposing for that long? It's not like the length of the exposure wasn't needed, how else would he have got that lovely milky sky?
