Poor lighting and moving the camera in the first one has messed up the picture and again a high ISO. Poor angle aswell you need to find one subject and concentrate on it and experiment different settings lighting and positions. Your camera will get its best pictures outside. The weathers lovely so get out there and take some pictures.

Big moth that the cats found in the garden yesterday!

Bought a new camera and lens yesterday and tried out doing a panoramic picture this morning, might have another attempt at blending the sky where you can see the joins but overall I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out :)

Edit: Matched the sky up better than it was.

any clues as to what the camera was? :)

not tried doing panos yet, might do once I get some practice doing llandscapes with the canon ef-s10-22.

Yeah, it was a 500d to replace my 400d, fancied an upgrade and the video function tempted me and the recent price drop tempted me even further, used my new Canon 70-200mm f/4L for the snaps too, I'm very pleased with both.

I was tempted by the 500d(to replace the 300d) also, but ended up getting the 10-22 lens so the purchase of a new camera has been placed on hold for the time being.

got my eye of the 70-200 as well but that also has to be put on hold, can't really afford to be buying 2 such expensive lenses while I don't have a job. its on my to-buy list after I find a new job, along with a new camera(the 300d is just under 5yrs old).

Few I took today at the Severn Valley National Rally at Brecon:

Full photoset here if anyone's interested. Haven't had time to crop/edit any images yet.

Indeed, very nice photo. The border is a bit too overpowering though.

Looks like its the Monasteries of Metéora in Greece (James Bond filmed there).

Tis a brilliant view. Can't help but think it could be one of those rare shots that could really benefit from a modest blob of HDR treatment. The extra sense of depth, scale and rock detail it would bring could really finish off what is already a nicely captured photo.

Not sure sure about HDR but an ND grad to darken the blue of the sky slightly would have improved it imo. Still a nice shot :)
