thanks - wanted to get a shot like this for ages - i was pretty happy with it as a first attempt

i was pretty lucky really. there were 2 species of lemur and the ringtails (pictured) were scared to come out of the cage. they kept leaping out, stealing a piece of fruit and leaping back in. this happened quite regularly so i got the idea to test my 50d's 6.3fps. its handheld as there wasnt room for my tripod.
i stood and watched and when the time was right let the pictures rip!

the rest is done by stacking the images in photoshop and using layer masks. i also used ACR to batch edit the 5 photos for colour balance etc.

I decided to try some blending of layers (only two) and flatten the depth of field by using two slightly different focal points. Plus, I haven't taken a cliched flower shot for quite a while :)

Both shots were at f/11 and ISO 800. I should have used a far lower ISO, but I forgot as just a few seconds before I was trying (unsuccessfully)to capture a hover fly in flight.

Un monkey et un peguin.

From a couple of weeks ago, might've posted the penguin one? not sure?

Thats a great shot! I like how nearly all your work is well thought out before hand. It makes a difference, from just going and snapping random objects.
Thank you... perhaps it's influenced by my previous style of shooting, where I'll set still life up and shoot it (like my lego SW men) like how I've imagined it. I apply the same to shooting people shots now and it seems to work-ish.

Nice shots Nick-fury, think they need brightening slightly and perhaps a boost to colour and contrast, but nice none the less.

Totally agree!
Great shots, especially number 2.

Nice pics on this page :)

Just had my first play with the Lee Big Stopper filter yesterday - just test shots basically, but pretty happy with a first attempt.
