Heres the original from the camera, then what I did in PP, I just added the saturation and a little local contrast. Not much PP, just enough to make it pop I guess. Oh and I did a quick bit of dodge and burn in the larger version above.

I went down a day earlier than everyone else to grab some shots in the evening, so I only had the one camera/lens and no filters, cheap tripod (not very good with 1D cameras; not advised!)

The exif should be embedded here so you can figure the rest out, to get the colours think about the WB and expose well.

Went to a place called Eyarth Rocks today. It is a SSSI, near to Ruthin in North Wales. It is a Limestone Hill smack bang in the middle of the Vale of Clwyd, and over the course of the year, 32 of the 34 Butterfly species found in North East Wales can be found.

A few from my museum visit a few weeks ago. I really really need a wide angle lens and was leading towards the sigma 12-24, I cant afford the 14mm L that cannon does. Can anyone tell me if the 16-35 is worth picking up over the sigma for the extra money it costs.

Lovely shots.

You should get less barrel distortion and better contract with the 16-35. You seem to get lovely results with your Sigma though, so perhaps better spend the money elsewhere?

never really post much of my work as i never think its good enough, but any way heres a cheeky house fly that landed on my desk yesterday
