Just a view out the back of the house from the other evening.

I should have waited until Springtime to buy my Macro Lense.

Nice pics. LOL, know exactly what you mean, had the same thought myself, searching high & low for bugs & not seeing much. Still, there's those frosty mornings to look forward to, was out this morning and got a few shots.

What Ive been doing is waiting till its a little sunny outdoors then putting a plate out with a bit of Jam or Vegetable matter on my garden table and waiting patiently. :p

^^^ Which lake??? I have family on the edge of Windemere, didnt know they did that there? Saw a C-130 fly very low once but thought there may have been an airbase near by?

Just one from today from me from Donington Park. Last time I went to see motorbike racing there it was the likes of Rossi/Stoner and crew with 200k spectators!

Needless to say today had maybe 300 tops. :)

Not a lake as such, but Thirlmere Reservoir :p, the first photo was taken from Dunmail rise and the second one from Great Howe overlooking the reservoir.

Not only the RAF that do low level flying there, but I was lucky enough to see a German visitor as well!

Took the plunge and bought the Canon 85mm f1.8 USM. Because I always fancied it, I know how good the USM focusing on this is and I could do with an amazing portrait lens, 136mm on my Canon 40D.

(Thanks JJ, the lens works fine!)

Here's a handful of test shots I did during a house party last night...

1) Make him pop

2) Suicidal Cowgirl

3) Posing

4) The Pair

So far, I found this lens to be very fast, silent and very accurate (despite number 2 being slightly OoF on the right eye I went for - but probably due to user error as I was shooting at f2.0).

The 136mm equivalent focal length is very tight in an indoor environment and I'm not quite used to the further minimal focus distance, but that will come to nature soon. I'll have to take this lens out to show some bokeh goodness soon!
