oooh is that what that is, was sat there all morning trying to work it out. I suppose if i had thought about it i could have used google sky maps on the old android phone.

I should really get about and grab some Winter sunsets/panos while the skies are clear!

Tomorrow I have half day so we shall see!

Got up early sunday morning just before the sunrise to shoot my first paid job :)

Before the subject of the day arrived I snapped this one which has only been resized.

Very happy for my "baby" DSLR :)

So myself and Blastman got up at stupid o'clock this morning to try and get some sunrise shots overlooking Southampton Docks, we spent about 45 mins trying to find a suitable location to shoot from, and then when we did find somewhere i rattled off about 150 shots without finding a single keeper. I just couldn't seem to find a good composition anywhere.

So i lined up 2 panoramics and didn't think i had anything till i got home, a wee bit o' shopping later and here we are.

Thanks for looking :D

Fantastic light! I've been wanting to know about good places to shoot the docks from in Southampton, there's a lot of potential there; seems you know of them! Give me a shout next time you go out there or nearby shooting. :D

This place wasn't particularly easy to get to, very slippy & wet and only accessible when the tide is out i think.

Eling is probably your safest bet, you can park next to the church and there is a pathway through the cemetery that takes you down to a park on the waterfront, there is then a beach that you can walk down right opposite the boats and cranes. Be warned if you walk to far then you may come across a gypo camp, although i never seen them let alone hear them, they're probably harmless.

Beanie & Biggles send their thanks! :D

hehe, our dog is all black (and i mean properly black, even my 1DSmk3 with a flash in focus assist mode struggles to focus on her) which makes things difficult :(

Couple of old shots (I still had the 24-105 back then :o):

Lovely shots of the little fella - I bet it he really is a hard challenge for the AF in anything but bright light.

Eeek at the 1Ds in the snow! I know those 1 series are as tough as they come, but still, eeek!

hehe, she'll have your nuts off for calling her a guy :p

Yea the 1ds is fine in the snow, weather sealed with a weather sealed lens, no worries!

A sunset landscape from my hometown of Ramsgate in Kent, still becoming more and more impressed by my 40D everyday.. this toy is incredible!
