Taken with my new sigma 70-200mm F2.8 OS

First thoughts of the lens. Sharp enough at 2.8, maybe not as sharp as the canon. F3.2 and onwards are very sharp. OS is worth 4 stops at 70mm and maybe 3 - 3.5 at 200mm. Auto focus is fast enough .

I popped out with it tonight, there was a bike race in town.

edit - zenfolio resizing compression is horrible... these are sharp i promise, go here to have a look at not so horribly compressed images

Thanks :D I had a feeling there was an easier method to do that effect! I just did it manually in photoshop, duplicate the image, make the bottom layer B&W then delete around the parts I want in colour, took me couple hours :p

My first set of pictures on my D5100 & 35mm 1.8. :p Already learned a couple of things, including not being able to stick to 1.8 aperture when it's so bright, as the shutter speeds stops at 1/4000ths. Need to stop it down a bit.

I'm also quite surprised how shall the DOF is even on my setup - the Colin one at the bottom is in focus halfway up his nose but not his eyes! Going to have to be pretty accurate that close up.

They're not particularly exciting photos, but they look cool to me. Very chuffed. Just need to get out and learn as much as I can!
