I've got a M42 screw fit adapter for my Lumix G3. You can get old school manual focus lenses to use with it for peanuts and i'm guessing this is what he did.

Are you not able to get an adapter for yours?

He's got a Canon 5D mk2 I think, so 400mm on yours is 800mm on his... I think? Which would be a ridiculous amount of wonga.

Ah i see. I have a micro 4/3 camera also so 400mm is 800mm on mine too

Quite like that shot. The processing and the expression make it a rather good photo in my opinion.
