Really jealous of you getting these squirrel shots. I've been slowly feeding a local one, but it never sticks around for long enough to get a good pic. Plus, opening the door to try and get rid of glass, means it runs away :(

I had to go to london to get those squirrel shots! The local ones around here are extremely wild compared to the almost pet like squirrels in london. If I had some food with me, I'd have the squirrel in macro shot range lol.

My most frustrating moment with wildlife so far was last week when I was trying to take a shot of a wild rabbit in the fields nearby. I noticed one in the long grass, but just couldn't achieve focus on it with AF, so I switched to MF and by the time I started to compose the shot it had ***** off :( I did manage to get another shot of one, but it was rubbish in comparison to what I would have got if I could have focused lol.

Did afew of my Nieces baby yesterday, I forgot my speed light!, DOH!, Never mind nothing onboard flash with a Mirror reflecting towards the white Ceiling cannot fix.

How can you tell?

Wasps look different :D

Wasps have long blank antennae and different shaped heads and a longer abdomen.

That's a female hoverfly (cos it has a wide bar down the middle of the head dividing the eyes (males have a little triangle) and I think it's a Epistrophe grossulariae but I might be wrong without seeing more of the abdomen.

Took a night trip to a few places in London tonight. Had a great time. Took the car and just drove around looking for a good shot. Most of the pics came out really poor - I have much to learn :) Most of the fun was finding places to park - some not so legally - jumping out, snapping away, then rushing back to the car before I got into any trouble. As I drove over London Bridge, Tower Bridge looked amazing - but I wasn't going to risk it as there was a huge group of very drunk guys that looked rowdy and I'd already got some attention from revellers in other spots, so decided against risking it. Will get a shot of it another time :)

There's a festival in Derby every year called... wait for it... Derby Festé... :p

From my shop I saw some odd people in costumes and the occasional paper lampshade run down the street... yeah... Well I managed to catch the tail end of it as I was leaving work yesterday and found this band playing near the assembly rooms, it was one of the few moments where I haven't felt a bit awkward pulling the D3 out in public purely because there were so many other people with their little SLRs out :D
