Ah it was a post edit hence why I didn't see it before!

Anyway, yeah you expose for the eyes, in my shots I used around 1/60sec at iso100 because the flash guns were being used so lower iso = better for fill flash. Adjust teh flash power accordingly and you'll get nice lighting all round!

So expose for the eyes and, but lighten the rest of the shot with a flash?

Flash is only pop up ATM... :(

Kind of hoping it'll still work xD

Been playing with torches throwing light around the scene ATM without the flash.

You can still bounce the popup flash, you'll want to adjust FEV on it though as the little head on it may not be enough to bounce off! - Stick a white piece of card under the flash aiming it at a wall or ceiling, you'll get good results usually :)

So, shooting street with a 20mm... You get caught more often than not! On crop it's a lot more in my comfortable 28-35mm zone, but this is quite a challenge. I like it.

(cropped, I think 24mm might suit me better for now, but 20mm is all a matter of getting used to it)

I keep composing to the right though, I think the lens' field of view will work better when I have a lot more to fill the frame with.

It is nice but for landscapes I'm only using it as its the widest I've got since going FF, having to stitch stuff. I'd love the 24 1.4 for stuff like this but a bit out of reach and the 28mm 1.8 isnt supposed to be too hot, unlike the Nikon version.

Yeah I keep looking for some kind of prime or decent zoom that'll be wide on my crop sensor but the choices aren't exactly numerous! Have to make do with the 18-135mm STM kit lens

Have you had any awkward conversations with people who have caught you? What do you say to them? I think I'd always come across as some kind of awkward perv. :p

Strangely enough not once was I confronted while shooting the 20mm. I am very good at pretending I'm shooting something behind someone though! I have been talked to before, I usually say I'm doing a project and point out something I found interesting, whether it's the light, the way they carry themselves or what they're wearing (the last works especially well).

I'll have to try that out, saying it's for a project and remarking on what they're wearing is a great idea. Usually for street photography I take shots of a scene with people included but even if they see me taking a photo they're only a small part of the scene so it's fairly non intrusive and people don't think they're the subject. I'd like to get closer sometimes though.

Are there some LED lights inside for its eyes?
