Focus looks ok to me. Maybe use something like f2.8-4 for that kind of shot. As you can see the DOF at f1.4 is razor thin, especially when you are close to the subject.

For comparison, here is a similar shot taken with Sigma 30mm but at f4:

I still dont know if I like the Canon 50 1.4 - I find it focus seeks really slowely a lot of the time. :(

Pretty poor. Was covered in cloud and then gone behind the heavy cloud so this is the only shot I have. Seriously thinking about replacing the Kenko extender now. The softness is bugging me.

DAMM! This reminds me! Saw an epic orangey/cloudy moon on my way home from work in the dark. Was suppose to go straight back out with the camera but forgot :(:o

What was your setup for this?

Just my rubbish tripod I never got around to replacing, 5dmk3, canon 70-200 F4 non IS, Kenko x2 extender. Oh, and I was using the 2 second timer to take the shots as I'm very heavy handed, and get camera shake otherwise. Exif is on flickr.

This camera seems to pick up much better detail, just wish I had more than the 2 minutes I got, to take a photo. Quality wise, my last attempt in July was better with the 60D.

Love the way its framed right in the middle. I did try one once and just real quick hand held was just a blury mess :(

Oddly enough, one of my better ones was hand held. I've no idea how I fluked it though as I can never do that :D I had a quick go tonight at handheld and it was awful :D
