By the time I got in the location that I wanted to be I had to turn back, way too cold tonight to be out. A little gutted, but there is always next weekend. I think I need some winter clothes :p

So here is a cat instead:

Absolutely loving the 5Dmkiii. I can't get over how quickly it is able to autofocus, even in ridiculous low levels of light it just works.

That's about the best I can manage too! I'm going to try one more time but I don't have high hopes.

I will hopefully be replacing this with a 70-200mm F4 in the near future, which will be infinitely better.

I'm swapping the "Jack of all trades" sigma 18-250mm for a few different lenses instead which will give me a better/sharper IQ and slightly more range than the softer Sigma. I've got a Canon 50mm F1.4 and Tamron 70-300m F4-5.6 coming tomorrow and hopefully a Canon 135L F2.0 (my Xmas prezzie) in Jan. Just looking for something to fill the 17-50 range (Tamron none VC probably) without busting the bank after what's been an expensive xmas so far.

Thought I try something retro.

Very nice, looking forward to the rest, the one you showed me last night looked great. My sister was very happy with everything yesterday, thanks for your hard work. Group shot outside St Pauls was surreal with 1000 tourists taking photos as well :) Glad the weather was good too.

Thank you :) the group shot was challenging! Lots of tourists everywhere!

Lucky with the weather yet again! After the rain in the past month I prayed and prayed like you wouldn't believe! Lol

I thought snow might be on the cards too :) It was a bit cold but no wind or rain all day which was great. I think everyone enjoyed the group shot as it was almost bizarre with all the cameras!

PS my Mum has asked if you used the special lens to make her look 20 years younger, so if by any chance when you edit her in the photos you know what to do :P

I did want to speak to you earlier in the day but you had loads on obviously and I'd had too much wine by the evening to string much of a sentence out.

I'd take the cold and sunny over rain anyway! :)

Lol about your mum, my style is documentary :p hehe

Yeah, there wasn't much time to talk, there's always something to photograph!

Too sleepy to go through any more so last one for today :)

Chambre Du Commerce by Robbie Khan, on Flickr

I think 17mm isn't wide enough for places like this to get it all in with perspective in one shot, thinking of possibly selling the 17-40 and getting something wider, anyone have a few to recommend for full frame usage?

I was wondering who that guy is, cos he's always there - then twigged, like a numpty - is that you? :p

Do you have a wireless trigger or something to fire off your shots?

Got through the rest!

Yeah it's me, I have an RF trigger but as it is most days I CBA to get it out, put batteries in etc so just switch to 10sec timer and run like hell :D

1st try at nightclub photography

First off there was hardly ANY ambient light, now there was a lazer a couple of small down lights-whcih didnt give off much light. DJ booth had UV and a long green stip light and that was it. Very dark in there, and to add to the the smoke machine caused even more issues

The club itself is vsmall celling is probably only 8 foot or so aswell draped in leaf style camo hangings.

So as you can imagine, suffered numerous problems! Could barely see the crowd in my view-finder. Hardly any room to get about, crap lighting.

Anyway here goes...

Today is the first time I've taken my camera out (aside from the day I got it). I have a whole lot to learn! From around 100 photos around 10 were 'decent'. Trying to do the ISO, shutter speed, focus etc right had me fumbling when the squirrel popped up! It's rewarding to even have one to post though, so I'm happy. There are also some fantastic photos in this thread which make me want to go back out already!
