I'm also a beginner, haven't used my DSLR a lot as I've had a night-shift job recently and haven't had much time to get out in the day! But here's one I got on the way home last month.

We tried all sorts of things, roasting trays, baking trays, bowls, direct light, soft light, no light, dye, coloured filters etc

Can anyone explain how to achieve these sorts of shots? we tried so hard to get two drops to hit each other but it was impossible

One of the best film scans I've done in a while, whenever I think of selling all my film stuff I scan a neg like this and remember why I love the results I get from film:
