The Postman allways rings twice (No he doesnt, he hardly turns up) - Lazy bum

I care.

Recession should not be an excuse for management to kick those with a job in the nuts.
:o

Fair point, but I also think that trying to bend your employers arm during it is not the smartest path to go down.
if you have an issue with your employer, you should take it up with them in a sensible and informed manner, not 'spitting your dummy out' and going on mass strike, fubaring up the country, just because they have a stranglehold on postal delivery does not give them the right to hold the country to ransom (if that is what they are doing, I don't keep quite up to date with them).

RM Management are NOT the good guys, believe me.

old postie was great

new random posties are having a laugh,
one pushed a jiffy bag through a window left on the catch (so the cat could get in/out)
then he shut the window

I came back to find the cat sitting on the windowsill getting very wet in the rain

now I just check under random bushes in the garden for my post,
it's not a postal service it's a sodding easter egg hunt

Yep. I've got 2 blu-rays on order that were despatched over a week ago plus some cartridge filters for my mum's iron. I've had a couple of letters delivered today but not the items I've ordered.

There was a story in the news were a postman was hoarding mail he was supposed to have sent because he couldnt be arsed delivering it. When questioned he said he was too lazy to deliver it. They later found over 2000 items of post stored at his flat.

I can beat that

Gaaaa...

A game was posted Recorded delivery yesterday, 1st Class. Unsurprisingly, not here today.

What do we pay these goons for?

I thought they were meant to be striking tomorrow? What happened to my game last night then?

Oh, wait, their staff are just taking the **** and not doing any work because they know they are on strike the day after.

If you look 1st class is not 'Guaranteed Next Day' So I don’t see the problem? If you require next day delivery next time use a service that offers this such as ‘Special Delivery’ which is infact guaranteed next day :)

/So much hate for Postal Workers in this forum my word!

I know what FIRST CLASS is.

I also expect that if you send several FIRST CLASS letters, some of them will arrive next day.

This is not the first time a first class letter has not been received the next day. Either ones I am expecting or ones I have received.

It used to be that First class was delivered next day 90% of the time. It is far from that now.

Our postman is great. Doesn't seem to have been hit by the strikes.

Always comes at 8:25am, puts it all in a lock box at the end of the drive and will often sign for items and leave them around the back (in the shed) if no one is home. We're a rural property so often it's better than a courier.

1 flaw.. he loves to drive the country lanes at 88mph, which is a nightmare if you catch him when leaving for work.

i love how people act like its against human rights not to have a perfect postal system

You are aware people do infact PAY for the things they send, and the things people are waiting for have been paid to be sent from the other end.

I think any other business which kept taking money for services, increasing prices, while the service is worse, seemingly by the day, would have lots of people complaining.

I don't think i have any god given right(not least because there isn't a god, but its a powerful sounding saying) to postal delivery. I also don't feel I have a god given right to hot fresh pizza, but when I order and pay for pizza, I expect it to show up.

If I order stuff that comes by Citylink, DHL, Fed Ex, it comes, if I order by Royal Mail, i have no idea when it will arrive.

The system is imperfect because the workers aren't being held accountable, for simply not working. They aren't "not working" on the sly either, they keep striking and telling everyone they are doing so. Union's can organise strikes at will, destroy a service, lose buisness in the process yet not be forced back to work till they get something they want.

Its like bad parenting and giving in to kids tantrums, you give in, they keep doing it. Ignore them, take things away from them, they'll start to behave normally.

I remember when we used to have 2 post deliveries. One at around 7am and the second around midday. My depot isn't far so it's not an issue for a missed delivery - but the opening times of the depot are and issue!

used to be the same here now were lucky to get post before 2pm
