*** The Pre-season Thread ***

Watched the first 20 mins of the RM Shamrock friendly and i have to say RM look decidedly rubbish...ok its a friendly but with their so called world class players they should have ripped Shamrock a few new ones but from what i saw they were pretty dire...fair enough maybe Kaka when he comes back from his holiday might give them the needed boost but i couldnt see anything to shout out about.

Will have to watch the highlights tonight or i think sky sports are showing the game again.

Although 1-0 isnt something to be proud of i suppose unlike Villareal who scored 27 goals:eek:

to be fair, Real Madrid were getting worse throughout the season, running out of idea's and they've started off that way.

Villareal were improving as a team and gelling perfectly and they know how each other play.

Madrid are a lot of new players who are literally playing their first game together while trying to get to know each other. Can perfectly understand them not getting it perfect straight away.

But this will still be Madrid's weakness compared to Barca, they haven't strengthened enough, 4 signings does fix a LOT of their weakness's, but they have no strength in depth and some serious defensive weakness.

real should have spent some of that mega bucks on the back 4....
Maybe even their defenders are as deluded as the management, I remember Cannavaro, a former Real centre-back, saying recently they needed to buy more attacking players even after the purchase of Ronaldo and co.

But then again given he'd just left for Juvé, his advice might've been slightly vindictive. :p

Arsenal embarassement, Silvestre with a ridiculous backpass and clearly not giving Almunia the shout there was a man on, which all came from Diaby winning a ridiculously easy header with a massive jump, that rather than flick on he headed backwards for no reason.

Lol, arsenal ran right up the pitch from kick off and equalised :p

Silvestre for two games now has constantly done these badly placed, underhit backpasses, his crossing and passing is beyond pathetic. He even looks poor against these non league teams from other countries, I think he's gotten worse and he was already pretty bad. The single most ridiculous transfer in Wengers history, we actually paid for him, paid actual money, madness.

Nice shot by Ramsey, first goal was an easy tap in for Bendtner.

Have no idea how good the guy they bought is, can't specifically remember his performances, but their left/right backs are a complete joke and were at fault for most of those goals when they got utterly thrashed by Barca at the end of the season.

EDIT:- easy game 5-1 at the moment with a while to go, Ramsey went off at half time, and is now back on from the 70th :p

Most shocking thing though, headed goal by RVP by a good cross from Sagna, would be great if Sagna has his crossing sorted out for this season as its the only really lacking part of his game.

EDIT:- 6-1 now, really good header from Gallas, well headed back across from Senderos to start with.

lol, 7-1, bizarre, in the 87th Arsenal passed it to the keeper who took it over the line, looked like Arsenal wanted to practice corners, when the ball came in the ref instantly blew for full time though, but still in the 87th minute. No idea what that was about.

I think they where fearing a pitch invasion and wanted to get the players off, thats all I can guess was the reason behind that.

Goal.com are reporting that Man Utd have lost Rafael for the beginning of the season due to a dislocated shoulder :(

(but at least Wes Brown is looking fit)

That would be a shame, I wondered why he hadn't been on the tour :( Still fingers crossed, Wes Brown looked good on monday.

Newcastle beat Huddersfield 1-0 (Nolan) if anyone cares......... please.. someone give a thought........... :(:p

For once in how many years, does anyone know what is actually going on at St James park...?

Couple of impressive Arsenal performances last night, Wilshere was decent and Ramsey looked awesome. Almunia was funny ..

Liverpool - Thailand is about to kick off. Same as the previous 2 games, you can watch it online or delayed coverage on LFC TV.

More or less the same line-up as the last 2 games but with the Spanish players on the bench. Alonso's not involved though; reportedly he's got a slight knock.

In other words off to Real. ;)

Inter were absolutely awful and there's no way JM wasn't taking the game seriously, we completely dominated the whole game:)
