*** The Pre-season Thread ***

Yeah the youngsters had a lot more motivation and looked hungry, leaves a lot to be said about some of the first teamers. Keane looks like he has started where he left of last season aswell, he needs to get into the mindset and start playing as he used to.
 
Keane looked like a ****, played rubbish and spent about five minutes waving his finger at the linesman for a decision that was right.

Essou-Ekoto played alright, same with Modric, and Livermore dead well to score so soon after coming on.

None of the Barca youngsters stood out for me but they all fit into Barca's system perfectly so they can all play possesion football with short, sharp passes.
 
Livermore looks a beast! Dervite looked okay if a little nervous, I guess we'll have to see how he handles Celtic to get a better impression.

It's been said in the past but Spurs certainly have some promising young players coming through, mostly imported but it's looking good.

Everyone knows about Bale and with the acquisition of Naughton we already have 2 very bright attacking fullbacks. In the centre of midfield Livermore and Bostock look like they could form a great partnership, with Parrett highly rated there as well. Danny Rose looks good on the left, I think we'll be seeing him off the bench a fair bit this season.

Who to? I wouldn't be against it as solid first team football at his age is invaluable. Likewise I'm pleased that Taraabt has rejoined QPR, he looked stonking for them at the tail end of last season. :)

Yeah, agreed. Our kids all looked decent. Lots of desire and drive. Naughton looked class and I hope we see more of Livermore and Bostock in the Celtic game.

Barcelona were scarily good considering they must have had their 3rd string out for the second half. All very technically gifted and able to play attractive passing football. Reminded me of Arsenal's kids.

To be fair though, Barca didn't see much of the play when our youngsters came on. Says a hell of a lot about the attitudes of our first team.
 
City game seems to be following on from the Ajax vs Athletico game in terms of being pre-season battle royale's. Some ridiculous tackles in the game last night, was way more entertaining than the Barca game, few career ending type tackles flying around.

THe City game's already had I believe a city defender(youth guy I guess, Vidal, not heard of him) taken off and Petrov had his foot pretty badly stamped on, stayed on though.
