it quite possibly is, it may be a 1080p images Vs the 360's 720p res.

agreed, if I had to hypothisize I would say we are comparing a 1080p HDMI image (ps3) to a 720p Component image (360), also,

There is a bit more detail in it though, notice the little house down near the water at the bend, not there on the 360 version.

that is not a little house it is a mountain lift that is connected to the tower on the left, you can also the the mountain lift on the 360 screen shot, look on the right handside of the water in the distance, you can't see the tower that pulls it up on the 360 screen shot tho because the car is more to the left and the tower is hidden behind the ridge ;)

Hmm the top one is too washed out and the bottom one is too dark, so neither are that good, poor contrast settings. The top one reminds me of acrade graphics.

I really do think that atleast 25% off JAP PS3 are on ebay.
probably another 25% are in highstreet game shops in china.

Pics taken from a tiny game shop in Beijing, and the price for 60G models is about 500GBP, not as insane as the bay prices.

It would be great if RR7 had a sound clip of Kaz Hirai saying "RRIIIIIIDGE RAAAACERRR!" when it loads up, similar to how the old Sonic games had "SEEEEEGAAAA" :p

Btw i hope that Chinese game shop has good security

im not actually that impressed with the graphics, i mean, they're not bad, but I really think we've reached a stage in gaming where it's the actual gameplay which is important (actually, gameplay should have and always has been the most important aspect, but you can't exactly say that was the game industries' focus in the last five years).

RR7 to me looks just like all the other ridge racers, nice shiney graphics, lame steering and about 30 minutes worth of replay value

Funny that if people wanted them badly, they should have been sold by now?!

Yet PS3s on ebay fetching much more than this shop...

Depends how many watts the ps3 uses. Some us devices don't work in uk though even with a transformer because they only work @ 60hz.

Hi!

I dont think you'll need a step down converter. Many foreign buyers of Jap version ps3 have reported that the machine is capable of both 100V and 220V.

Just to say, the lighting on oth of those pictures appears to be from different times of the day. I think that's having an affect on the images also, especially in the distance.

Lame steering otherwise known as drift racing
I like my PC sim racing, but Ridge Racer still gives me a grin and a relief from realism.
