The Radeon RX 5700 XT Owners Thread.

@Panos
Stupid question but how will I know which one is the 5700XT?
In those entries will it make it clear?

Is not stupid stupid question mate. Last time had to amend the soft tables on my system wasted quite some time trying to figure out which GPU it was :D

Ok when you go to the class (0000, 0001 etc) you will see it has a property (right pane) "DriverDesc". It should say there the name of the card on Vega displays "Radeon RX Vega".

FYI all this argument for the Navi GPUs the last month, and you got the 5700XT before me :P
Mine is still to be delivered today (ex wife) and from tomorrow in transit to Greece.

If your lucky the driver remover on the German tomshardware site will remove all the old entries, if not it should vastly reduce the number of choices.

The only real reason I'm interested in the 5700XT is the potential for the clocking.

Are we using Wattman still?

I have written off the Morpheus purchase so when I justify it as just the card costing 380 and when overclocked it becomes 2070S performance then it doesn't seem too bad.

If they were the same price I'd be 2070S every day

From what ive read Wattman and to an extent Afterburner are both not working very well at the moment. Wattman can causes lots of crashes if you change to many settings and afterburner will be updated to fully support Navi on the next release. Everyone is waiting for updates to the software and drivers before the real overclocking starts.

On the other review we discussing this morning in the Navi discussion, the guys set the card to 40% fan speed, and was quiet while maintaining 2020 core with default power settings.
Default fan settings are too low throttling the card.

My card arrived today via DHL.

Blimey, talk about price gouging on game prices because of the holidays.

Picked up a bunch of games. Dirt 2.0, Metro Exodus and few others. Interestingly, Hitman 2.0 DX12 bench looks identical to Hitman 1.0 DX12 so won't be running 2.0.

Will be running through my 1080ti HOF baselines on Thursday and will slot the 50th AE in on same day.

I ordered mine Friday morning at 10am card shipped at 5.30pm same day.

Card arrived this morning at 10am. I would therefore assume that if someone ordered a card in the morning it would same day ship and arrive next day in or near a major UK City.

Does a Morpheus II work ok on a Vega 64? I ask 'cos I got one with my sappire 5700xt but I don't think I really need to fit it, the stock blower cooler really is that quiet

No it doesn't. You have to get the Morpheus Vega. Otherwise VRMs overheat, and that includes half the chokes which cannot put heatsinks on due to the height of the cooler. This is resolved with the Morpheus Vega edition.

It does work OK to cool the core, but thats how far it is. I am personally unhappy with hit (Morpheus II), however was a middle ground solution after the EK Predator failed last month while waiting for new card.
