The Radeon RX 5700 XT Owners Thread.

You maybe have a conflict in the amd system. Did you adjust your ram?
I reset my RAM back to default 2400mhz and it was still doing it. Also undervolted the GPU but no luck.

I ran Memtest and all checks passed on the RAM. The only thing I can think of is that the VRAM clock is always stuck at 1750mhz on the AMD system, but on the intel system it clocks down to 200mhz when idle.

you running two monitors or a high refresh rate monitor?

No, I'm using one monitor which is a 1440p 60hz monitor and it's plugged in with a DP cable. I've also tried all the ports on the back of the card.
have you an HDMI you can try?

did you try turning the memory clock down on the GPU? I've always through there was an issue with X470 boards and the 5700 series. I had issues with mine in the past.

I'm guessing the intel system uses a different PSU?

I tried with HDMI but it still happened. I need to lower the VRAM clock and test, once I've taken it out of the other PC.

Yeah the Intel system uses a different PSU, but the GPU (gtx 970) from that works fine in the AMD PC. Both cards require a 8+6 pin pcie power.

UPDATE:

The 5700 XT was working fine in the Intel system and the GTX 970 was working fine in the Ryzen PC - Tested for about 2 days. I swapped the cards back today and put the 5700 XT back in the Ryzen PC and installed fresh (latest) drivers, the artifacts and crash / reboot happened after a few minutes.

I installed an older Adrenalin driver (version 20.10.1) and have been using it for about 2 hours and have ran 3D Mark tests and have not had a single crash or artifact come up. The VRAM clocks are now idling at 200mhz, whereas before with the other drivers they were always at 1750mhz.

Hopefully this has sorted it, but I'll need to use it for a few more days to make sure.

What DRAM settings are you using? What voltage? If it's running at XMP 1.35v try upping it to 1.4v. Or, try putting the memory back to JDEC default 2133Mhz and see if that helps.

It was originally on DOCP @ 3200mhz but then I set it back to default settings and ran the memory at 2400mhz and the artifacts / crashes still happened. But after installing an older Adrenalin graphics driver everything seems to be working fine, so I'm going to see how it goes. I've not had any issues for the last couple of hours with this driver.

Fingers crossed that it's all sorted now.

thought you tried earlier drivers before?

I bought the GPU 6 weeks ago and it was running perfectly fine on the intel system, the issue only started when I upgraded to the 3700x and x470, which made me doubt that it's the card. I'm going to test the card on another system and then I'll know for sure.

I bought it from Currys and am past the 30 day refund / replacement period,. I'll have to send.
it in for repair

Just had word from the place i bought it from (not OCUK) that they confirmed its faulty but cannot replace due to no stock. so waiting on a refund. Mine worked perfect for a 2 months then had the issues. So if i where you defo do an RMA

It happened again this morning, graphical glitches and a black screen then sudden reboot. It's on its way back to competitor. They don't normally refund after 30 days as it's been 6 weeks since I bought it but they said they're going to refund me.

[/ QUOTE]
Friend, I'm Brazilian and I was researching about drops fps on the rx 5700 xt and I found this forum and I just registered. I also have a Nitro and I am having drops of fps in some CODMW multiplayer games, I play in 1440p 120hz freesync, and sometimes in the game the game stops quickly and I notice that the clock drops from 1960 Mhz to about 80 Mhz, with that the 120 fps drops to about 8 fps. Current driver 20.12.3, I have tried more than 10 different drivers, between old and recent. I've tried everything, installed the game on 3 SSD, on a different SSD than the win 10 is, I changed the source to a Leadex 750W Gold, I changed the CPU from R7 2700 to 3700x, I have RAM 2x8gb 2400Mhz, over 3200 MHz. Undervolt 2000 / 1107mV stable. I have already tested with the 3 tight pstates states. Windows game mode enabled and disabled. Has this problem occurred to anyone else here? I will test to increase the Vcore of the VGA to 1150mV. I appreciate anyone who can help.
I have already posted pics but my nitro needed a re-paste once I did that my fps returned.

There is also this trick which helps fps.

with the new 20.12.1 drivers

What settings are you using under "performance and then "tuning" in the Radeon Software ?

i have a red devil 5700 xt

I just use the "overclock" button

i dont wish to overclock per se, i want to optimise it

thanks

I sold my 5700 XT for more than I paid for it thanks to the crazy prices and sealed a deal on a GTX 970 for very cheap, overclocked the GTX 970 to 1550mhz and run games with absolutely zero problems, so blissful.

The Gigabyte Aorus 5700 XT was pure dog poop and 100% I am not going back to AMD ever again, it's not the case that yes the chances are they will have another lineup without these problems (RX 480 and 570 I have had before were excellent) but because they fluctuate so hard on drivers every lineup that is released, It's not worth my time or sanity.

I owned the card for over 9 months and finally gave up.

People will point at the person having the issues rather than accepting that simply, it's all **** and should not be happening.

For now I am happy with my 970, I am aiming to pick up a 3060Ti in time.
