The Radeon RX 5700 XT Owners Thread.

OK, so after everything being just about ok, today all my games suddenly decided to stop using the card and I'm only seeing 6MHz use after a few minutes of play. So far its happening in ROTTR and the Outer Worlds, the two games I'm currently playing.
Nothing has changed from yesterday apart from uninstalling the Logitech G Hub software for a keyboard I no longer use. Everything else is fine. I ran a Time Spy benchmark and it came back with a similar score to usual so I'm gettig annoyed.

I've already followed the safe mode DDU uninstall and reinstall (19.10.2 drivers which I was previously using) to no effect. No other changes to settings have been made so anyone have any ideas?
So it looks like the Logitech G Hub software uninstall somehow borked my Xbox bluetooth controller. Removing the controller completely via the registy etc had no effect, but when I use keyboard and mouse or plug the contoller in, I don't get the GPU Mhz drop.
Obviously I don't want to have to re-install a piece of software that no longer is used for anything so any other ideas?

When did you last do a reinstall of Windows out of interest?

A clean install of 1903 was done around the start of October. It must be to do with the Bluetooth settings even though the keyboard was connected using the Logitech wireless protocol. Only the Xbox controller uses Bluetooth.

I’ll try removing the the entire Bluetooth stack, but for the moment it’s working with a wired controller connection.

Anyone know why undervolt settings are not saving in Wattman after a restart.

Been digging around and tried turning off Windows fast boot, which did not solve it.

Would it be an unstable overclock?

I do use Afterburner to monitor temps.

Sorry, wrong thread, should be in the 5700 owners thread.

Both my 5700 and XT save their settings in Wattman just fine but only tried undervolting. i don't have Afterburner installed.

I only try to undervolt. Want to try and keep the temps down.

The settings in Wattman save if I restart windows when not gaming, but it only does not save sometimes when gaming. Hence my question about an unstable undervolt.

Not always been follwing the settings though, just noticed that they revert back to default at some point.

I'll stop using Afterburner for a start.

Word to the wise. Looks like I was quick to blame G Hub, the failing batteries on the xbox controller seem to have been the culprit. When removing the bluetooth devices this evening I couldn't reconnect the controller.

Of course you've got no way of telling the battery level on a PC so I just swapped the batteries and hey presto! working games again. I guess when the controller disconnected it was simulating the game being closed so dropped the GPU clock, causing all the problems. 3 solid hours of the Outer Worlds tonight without a hitch.

Undervolt it a bit.
Tried but doesnt have much affect, but I wonder if that is because it is a very cool card anyway. Increasing power limit to 50% gets the best, it then runs at 2050 stable in bench tests but when I play a game it eventually crashes even though temps are not teribad. memory will go max 930... I just cant get it to stablise in games, that is what I would really like. Its a great card, but its annoying not being able to push it either way.

VRAM at 930 is too much at stock voltage. Try 910.
PL keep it low to 0-10% not 50% as it seems doesn't affect Navi performance while it adds more heat.

After that the next option is to use the MorePowerTool and start tweaking VRAM voltage, etc.

Unfortunately this forum here has ended up becoming WCCFTECH these days and personally prefer to stick to technical aspects of overclocking and tweaking than having to argue on technical details with stone walls.

every card is different, i run 1.2v @ 2220 +70 pl.

undervolt is good for reference blowers if running better cooling then upping voltage is still good.

Thanks man.

For this nitro, the power limit does a lot! +20 to +30 seems a sweet spot +50 does the most, but past that it is heat central yeah.

I will try 910 and have a look at the links, cheers!

Edit: Its just odd that in various gpu stress testers it is stable but in games not. (when overclocked)

So... Updated my drivers to the latest version this evening, and getting really strange glitches, in Pubg the screen occasionally flashes, can't see exactly what it is as it's so fast, but looks like white blocks or lines across the screen.

Also a similar issue in The Outer Worlds, plus I'm getting loads of RGB sparkles everywhere (like when the sun hits a reflective surface, but they are everywhere). Seems to only happen on when visual effects is set to Very High, if I turn it down to high they disappear (but the flashes still occur). I rolled back to the previous driver which seems to have fixed it, but wondered if anyone else has noticed the same?

Just tested PUBG and did not experience any thing unusual. I suggest to reinstall using EXPRESS method. Do not even do an uninstall. Just install it over.

Anyone having problems with 19.10.2 drivers?
It’s only giving me four adjustments of the fa curve before locking up. Have to hit apply after every adjustment and end task when it locks up.

Didt have this problem when I only upgraded gpu.

Im able to apply all five, then i hit apply. Did not use it, tho, since i keep the fan profile at stock on my reference.
