how are people finding these cards without paying the scalpers?
I was lucky and bought mine directly from AMD on release day.
Keep an eye on this link im sure more will be randomly available https://www.amd.com/en/direct-buy/5458374100/gb

Not sure, had some stock alerts from competitors but by the time I get to see my e-mails they're gone, you won't find me overpaying for a card. The RRP on both the 3080 and 6800 XT are fair IMO but that's as far as my budget is going really, if stocks remain this low we might end up waiting for the next generation and buying the used cards!how are people finding these cards without paying the scalpers?
They aren't. They are paying the scalpers.how are people finding these cards without paying the scalpers?
The scalpers are either eBay or scalping retailersTip for anyone still looking a friend signed up to a free discord channel that gave out stock alerts. He sent me 3 links on Thursday. 3070, 6800 XT & 6800.
I bought a 6800 Red Devil as it was the only one in stock by the time I opened the website. Bought it for a silly price I know.<..snip>
I got an alert via PartAlertUK a couple of weeks ago that a competitor had some 6800XTs available. I managed to snag one.how are people finding these cards without paying the scalpers?
You should probably also post the price you paid as that formed part of his question "How do you avoid paying [over the RRP]" (paraphrasing).I got an alert via PartAlertUK a couple of weeks ago that a competitor had some 6800XTs available. I managed to snag one.
£799 I paid for a Sapphire Nitro+ OCYou should probably also post the price you paid as that formed part of his question "How do you avoid paying [over the RRP]" (paraphrasing).
Thanks. That's £225 over the AMD "RRP", so he'll have to decide if that's a scalper price or not£799 I paid for a Sapphire Nitro+ OC
Thats like saying an EVGA FTW3 is £x over nVidias RRP. AIBs always charge more than the AMD RRP. But ultimately, anyone buying a card now will have to decide if they really need it or are prepared to wait for more availability or buy a different card (maybe second hand).Thanks. Sure but rarely £225 more on a £580 model. Unless you buy ASUSThats like saying an EVGA FTW3 is £x over nVidias RRP. AIBs always charge more than the AMD RRP. I'm signed up for alerts on a couple Discord channels. You can get a 6800 for £900+ if you really want, very low volumes but they're around. The XT isn't available at any price atm.
I don't key an eye on the nV side as I'm not after one. But you can I believe also get 3070s for £750+ and 3080s for £800 to £1000. The 3060Tis when I looked were £600+
You'll be paying scalper prices no matter what if you buy atm.
Sorry not got my name in the pic but had mine for a while now and enjoying every bit of it.
Some water cooling pics in below link.

Probably, overclockers will be looking to maximise profits from people desperate to buy a graphics card.Noticing that many of the cards on Ocuk website are having their prices increased drastically before the intended release. Some sapphire cards have slowly had their prices increased by over £200.00 so far. Is this going to continue happening until release?
