The Radeon RX 6900/6950 XT Owners Thread.

Legends.

I love it how you both got it wrong but nailed it on the second attempt.

Have to ask, was there any conclusion going on? :D

Tried your settings for MPT but I seem to be locked to 350W what am I doing wrong?

I've saved the bios, made the changes, clicked save and then reboot but the changes are not being saved.

Calling all 6900 XTXH owners!! (if you have 1.2v available in Radeon Software > GPU Tuning you have an XTXH model)

Please can you provide your stock core clock maximum frequency at default settings?

For example, my 6900 XT Merc's default clock (albeit a XTX) is 2469Mhz.
Just the Red Devil XTX here but a default clock of 2524Mhz. What does this indicate to you Matt?

Do you guys think a 3900X could bottleneck the 6900 XT at 1440P? I am stating to suspect that I am being bottlenecked by the CPU. RAM is at 3733 fast timings.
What games are you playing? I can see a few CPU heavy games in multiplayer limiting your GPU utilisation indicating a bottleneck.

If you are not reaching 99% utilisation, then you may be CPU limited.

No, you should be fine.

That is what I thought first.. But seems I am being bottleneck because I don't really see the gpu pegged at around 99%..

That's the thing, and the reason I say "I suspect" because there is the game optimisation fact as well. BF5 seems fine, Warzone no, I don't get full gpu usage when vsync or any other frame limiter is off, Enlisted also have a very low gpu usage, around 50%. RE2 also should be a example of a game that must run 144FPS but the gpu just sits around 80-100FPS and the utilization is around 60%. In Warzone if I increase the render resolution then yes, the gpu goes to 99%, that is why I think I might being bottlenecked, as I can not increase the render resolution of the other games, I believe is the same situation.
I've been looking at plenty Reddit posts of people with 6900 XTs and they were reporting the same, seems 3000 series cpu can bottleneck the 6900 XT, and after a cpu upgrade to 5000 series the gpu usage was sorted. I was just not expecting this with the 3900X at 1440P.
3Dmark etc of course the GPU is pegged at 99% all the time, but well, that is developed to behave like that.

Sounds like you are CPU limited. You really need a Ryzen 5000 series with fast, low latency memory to get the most from the 6900 XT otherwise you will leave some performance on the table.

I saw an nice uplift in gaming performance going from a 3950X to a 5950X with a 6900 XT and that was at 5120x1440.
