The Radeon RX 6900/6950 XT Owners Thread.

Thanks for the explanation pal. So PBO is the way to go in your opinion?

Also, I have 32gb of RAM coming tomorrow. Let’s see if that solves the stutters.
Good luck with the ram !

Hope it works for you, I've still not played more than 2 games on WZ with mine was busy this weekend

So thought i'd give 6900xt a go in warzone and sadly im also having no end of issues with hitching/stutters like it seems many others. I have the powercolor XTU, it's really frustrating having tried in 3 systems, a 12900k, 5950x and 5900x, all have the same issue.

I have tried so many things now just too many to list, i thought i'd got close to fixing it yesterday when it ran fine for about 15min switch to borderless.

When it isnt stuttering the higher FPS is rediculously nice and you can definitely feel it.

Have trawled this thread for and havent found anything that i've not tried except this 1.5 setting in the adv options ini.

Will spend a few more days debugging before i return it to OCUK i think.

Are you running 32GB of system memory? Seems to help some.
What have you tried so far?
Can you put up a video with a overlay running, showing the settings used?

32gb c14 ram seemed to fix mine although have not had time to test over an evening yet.

Prior to this setting textures to low or normal while keeping everything else pretty much maxed sorted it and disable almost everything in radeon software other than image sharpening

Edit: there is a YouTube video somewhere I linked also couple pages back which helped me, and please be aware if you Google rtx 3080ti warzone stutter it's the same on 3080s and 3090s etc its just a pain in the ass game to run at high fps?

Thanks all,

12900k 5.3/4.0 - 2x16 ddr4 4000mhz c15, Ghost Spectre Windows 10 Lite
5950x 4.7 allcore - 4x8 3733mhz c14, Ghost Spectre Windows 10 Lite
5900x 4.8 allcore - 2x16 3800mhz c14, Ghost Spectre Windows 11 Lite

the 12900 is fresh installs of windows, literally only had required system drivers installed and warzone.

I tried disabling everything in the AMD software, SAM on and off, underclocks, overclocks on the card and CPU/RAM.

In game settings are the typical competitive settings, all low.

All systems run fine when they have a 3080 ti or 3090 installed.

The card is for my 5900x to replace the 3080 ti i had in it, thats where i've been trying to get it to work.

@LtMatt, i'll what i can do on video.

What is Windows 10/11 Lite? That does not sound like official installation media.

Here is how Warzone runs for me, specs in video description.

Thanks, I did see your video, you're running pretty low FPS by comparison because of 4k, max textures, max tessellation and max anti aliasing. I run everything low or very low, 1440p, no anti aliasing and much higher FPS, this is best balance for getting 240+fps, 3090 doesnt get there but this 6900xt easily does it.

I'll try some super high settings and see if the low FPS stops it.

Jut captured some 1440P lowest possible settings footage, uploading to YouTube now but it was smooth as a babies bottom.

One thing I discovered, disable Enhanced Sync. I found the game slightly smoother with it off. I had it enabled on my recent Warzone videos I uploaded.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Scores Top Spot in 3DMark Fire Strike Hall of Fame with 3.1 GHz Overclock
3DMark Fire Strike Hall of Fame is where overclockers submit their best hardware benchmark trials and try to beat the very best. For years, one record managed to hold, and today it just got defeated. According to an extreme overclocker called "biso biso" from South Korea and a part of the EVGA OC team, the top spot now belongs to the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card. The previous 3DMark Fire Strike world record was set on April 22nd in 2020, when Vince Lucido, also known as K|NGP|N, set a record with four-way SLI of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPUs. However, that record is old news since January 27th, when biso biso set the history with AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU.

The overclocker scored 62389 points, just 1,183 more from the previous record. He pushed the Navi 21 XTX silicon that powers the Radeon RX 6900 XT card to an impressive 3,147 MHz. Paired with a GPU memory clock of 2370 MHz, the GPU was probably LN2 cooled to achieve these results. The overclocker used EVGA's Z690 DARK KINGPIN motherboard with Intel Core i9-12900K processor as a platform of choice to achieve this record. You can check it out on the 3DMark Fire Strike Hall of Fame website to see yourself.

Have a look, see what you think. This will convert to higher quality at 1440P eventually.

Please put up some similar footage, with your specs etc, showing off a full GPU overlay.

Unfortunately the 32gb did not solve my stuttering issues guys.

I've gone back to my CL14 Trident Z 16gb and I'll return the RAM tomorrow. I just experimented with Video scale 1.2 and played a whole hame of Plunder without any stutters. We'll see if it holds.

I think I'm done experimenting now though. If normal holds, great, otherwise I'll just play at very low and enjoy the bloody game lol.

For the love of god man, I'll just send you my rig.

HAHA!

I have spent the last 3-4 weeks obsessing over getting this thing to run how I want it. I think I have exhausted everything other than getting another SSD. I'm currently running 1 SSD and that's it and it's only 230gb. 80gb of it is free.

The other possible thing is that I need a dedicated second SSD just to hold Warzone. But I don't know if I want to bother :p

its a utility/script you run during installation which is meant to get rid of some of the "bloatware" , MS Edge etc.

Windows 10 Lite is designed to be used during a clean install. It uses the command prompt and a collection of scripts to slim down Windows 10 during the installation so it should only be used by advanced users familiar with the command prompt, although it is relatively easy to use at any level.

Amazing, running very low on the textures has worked, completely stutter/hitch free 220 lows 330 highs, average of 260 over 30+mins play time, the 6900xt is unbeatable on warzone.

Yup. I discovered this fix a couple of days ago. It appears to be VRam related. The higher the settings you use, the more VRAM required. You could probably run normal if you disabled caching and changed map resolution to low.

But very low never fails. And this game at 200fps + on a 240hz monitor is amazing.

3.1ghz lol? OGS has just set new world records with his 6900xt and 12900k

He has reclaimed top spot on all the Firestrike leader boards. He has managed to achieve 6.8ghz on his 12900k, 7200MT/s on his DDR5 memory and 3311mhz on his 6900XT.
