Anyone else got any experience of EARC, Atmos and a 6900XT?

Connected to my LG CX, whatever I try to do it won’t let me configure Atmos, just says device does not support. Pulling my hair out.

No, but am using the same panel.

Does it work if you disable FreeSync on the TV?

LG CX gaming/PC monitor recommended settings : OLED_Gaming (reddit.com)

I have the same problem with a bx and it worked fine on an nvidia card with the same setup. I didn’t find any solution though.

Annoying. Worked perfect with my 3070 last year. I will give it one more shot and reset the TV settings.

Resetting the tv and reinstalling the drivers worked. Haven’t tried it myself.

Hi again. Was just about to buy one today until I read on reddit that apparently the QC is dodgy and the card suffers from poor hot spots due to cooler having lack of heat spreaders... posted by multiple users on multiple different threads, though some users were commenting about the x rather than z. My understanding is that both use same cooling... this suddenly took the wind out of my sails.

Any thoughts or comments?

If you have a problem, return it within 14 days. The card should run fine at stock AFAIK with the default power limits. If you are looking to overclocking and use high power limits, I'm sure it'll throttle.

Thanks, wouldn't be overclocking, just leaving everything at default was my intention. Are you using one yourself or did you go with another brand?

Just walking past the office and heard the fans going mad on the 6900XT. Couldn't get tye screen to resume, so tried remote desktop from my phone to access the PC and there had been a driver crash so rebooted the computer from RD. Now it won't boot into Windows. Instead it gets stuck just after the Bios screen with the following error.

Keyboard can't get me into the bios at this point and it just shuts down.

Any ideas?

No, not using one myself. II went with a Toxic so the other end of the expense scale but I like to overclock so wanted a 6900 XT with a AIO for the best temperatures and overclocking headroom.

@Biffa - Try clearing CMOS and clearing power to the system for a minute.

On my X570 system some USB ports lose power to the keyboard until Windows is already booting so could try a different port? (On my system it's obvious due to the lights going off on the keyboard for a bit)

Keyboard lights are all good during boot. Caps lock light etc

@LtMatt have left powered off overnight, next step, open her up and clear cmos then try another keyboard, swap out gpu etc

Just wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar before, must admit it's a first for me.

Yeah and nothing had changed hardware, driver or Bios wise before it happened. :confused:

Thanks LtMatt. Yeah I used to overclock, but these days I just want to plug and play. Got my eyes on an ASUS offering at the moment. I think with both the PS5 and XSX using RDNA2, the 6900XT is where I should be heading, rather than Nvidia.

On a separate note to everyone. If anyone is using an ASUS 6900XT, please let me know your impressions. Also if anyone has one of these hooked up to a 120Hz TV (I've got a high end Sony Z9J). Please let me know if all runs without issue.

Did the trick, got back into Windows, but couldnt load radeon software as device was disabled in device manager. Re-enable, rebooted and all working again.

Which Asus are you referring to? Reference, TUF or the Strix LC?

I had the X and returned it as it did run hot. Went with the Red Devil instead. In hindsight I could have kept the MSI card as I eventually went down the custom loop route.

Cool, looks like I did the right thing potentially, moving away from the MSI - it's a shame as apparently the MSI 3090 is done very well.

It's the TUF I could get a good deal on.
