The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Got to say I'm also very happy with my 7900xtx and glad I opted for it as it looks like it'll have me covered at 1440p UW for a while! Don't play many games with RT so doesn't bother me about it's lacking performance in that realm.

A good choice grabbing one these days and overclocking it a bit to get longer lasting performance if needed. My Sapphire Pulse should take a bit of OC'ing at some point if needed but I haven't done anything for now.
If your coming from Nvidia cards you might be scratching your head when I tell you the best results are usually when you undervolt the card. Less volts, less heat means boosting longer.
I'll post some tuning settings tomorrow.

Undervolting nvidia cards is not a new thing, its extremely common, and is the correct way to optimise both AMD and nvidia GPU's

With all these new cards out I'm happily going to keep my Nitro+ 7900XTX for a while now. I only checked the other night and Black Ops 6 is eating up to 19GB at 4K with everything maxed out. Tbf I didn't even notice as I've just been enjoying the game

Quite a few games are pushing up VRAM now. I wouldn’t touch any card less than 24GB at 4K.

Managed to pick up an open box 7900xtx pulse from from the b-grade section at a really good price. Will tide me over till the next gen, cant justify the price of green teams offerings for only 16GB of VRAM
Give it a good test. Furmark for no more than 10 mins is a good one. Plenty of different games. Just to make sure it’s ok.

still torn on this with the 9070xt only a few weeks away
You really might as well just wait and see what they have to offer. It's so close now. Will be also interesting to see what benefits RDNA4 has And of course what they decide to price the new cards will be a big factor.

you are right think it just with everyone buying 7900xt and 7800xt recently it makes you think are they right :) I know we will still have stock of the 7900xt in a couple of weeks if thats the right choice

The 7900XTX are enticing if you want the performance and vram, prices were better as some were close to £800 which is great compared to the £1000 it was. I can see a chunk of buyers were fed up with nvidia's paper launch then they seen it has close performance to the 4080/5080.

Going to see what the 9070XT brings now, and watch stock levels for the 5070Ti with how that gets presented too.

They really have been flying off the shelves, and not just at OCUK. I think I missed my chance now both the Hellhound and Pulse are both OOS here, they're good cards but I'm not willing to pay £700 if outlets decide to bump their price up in reaction to the surge.

Disappointing that I have a few days off work right at the start of March that I can't change. Was really hoping to play the new Monster Hunter with the missus on launch, but if I can't secure her a GPU I'm happy with it'll just have to wait because she's currently using a battered old RX460

Dynamic memory allocation doesn't mean the game needs that much VRAM, windows gives it extra because it can spare extra.

If you had 128gb of VRAM the game would look like its using unbelievable amounts.
